@Totte #2  Ah! Mary Poppins dropping into a one on one soccer game!!  Like the action poses. Interesting use of refracted sun rays... i m assuming postwork in filter forge.  Nice one!

@MelanieL #2  I think they found a good money making business.  and a chair to sit in while they wait for customers.  and if they could find a third partner maybe they could add a sushi stand... Like the color and posing.  Good one!

Song: I Try - Macy Gray.

Origional Lyrics: My world crumbles when you are not near.

Twisted Lyrics: I blow bubbles when you are not here.

This one had me stumped, I had to find the misheard lyrics on the interweb thingy.

Thank you MelanielL and luci45 (you know that saying - "great minds think alike".)
Thanks Gopherus - I'm going with hazing... devils choice.

MelanielL - #1 - Lovely falling rain, gives a nice effect - really sets the mood. #2 - Great snap shot look - say cheese.
Saphirewild #1 - Nice one. That is one big itty bitty - who obviously knows everyone who sees him will run away. #2 - Great idea - Looks like that dragon will never go hungry.
Totte - Great action, nice sun rays, but I love the little man with the umbrella parachute.
    3delinquent - Wonderful idea - nice bubbles.

So, it's on to round 2!

    The pull:

4038 - Hot Tub Pergola Poses
    893 - Dance Practice for Genesis 2 Female(s)
    862 - Leyton Hair for Genesis 3 Female(s) and Genesis 2 Female(s)
    3405 - The Dungeon Gallows

Not quite sure what to make of this one....

Once I got that 'Dancing Queen' song stuck in my head (and it was the Dance Practice outfit that sent my thoughts in that direction), everything pretty much just fell together.  The Dungeon Gallows lent itself very well as a Goth band's stage, and the Hot Tub Pergola pose was applied to Michael 4 -- and, except for an additional hand pose and expression, it is completely unmolested.  (Yeah, surprised me, too!)  I always cringe whenever I pull a pose package, because by the time you've tweaked it to look halfway decent, it usually ends up all but unrecognizable.  I lucked out, this time.

I apologize for the mediocre quality of the image, but after an overnight render (10+ hours), I figured 'screw it!' and pulled the plug.

    Also used:
    Aslan Court 1 - Fallen
    Rama Drums
    Pandora Keyboard (a ShareCG freebie)
Bijou for Genesis 2 Female (Man, am I getting some serious mileage out of her, or what!?)
    Sport Time Sneakers
    Murder, She Posed
    Michael 3
Goth As Fashion for Michael 3
    Mark Hair
    Merlin's Guitar and Props
    Riley for Stephanie 5
    Pure Hair: Timeless
    Onyx for Genesis
Derek character for Genesis 2 Male
    DA Mohawk Hair
    Escalate Outfit for G2M
    High-Top Canvas Sneakers
    Rama Drum Solo Poses
    Deanne for Genesis 2 Female
    Fiends Forever Short Bob Hair
Mistress Lilith for Genesis 2 Female
    Michael 4
    Notorious for M4 (from RDNA)
    Mon Chevalier Hair
Lords of the Night - The Palace (lights)
(And I was tempted to add a tiara, but I thought that would be a bit much!)

Hey, folks, I could use a bit of help here....

I'm looking for a celebrity look-alike morph, specifically Michael Jackson (later years, preferably).

I tried Googling, and even searched within there forums here (hoping for a few hits in the 'Celebrity Look-a-Likes' topic), but I'm getting a whole lot of nothing -- all I'm getting from Google are YouTube videos of his face morphing through the years, and the forum search keeps tripping over the 'Michael' part, returning crap-loads of references to Michael X.

Has anyone come across anything like this?  Or offer a better search term?

Gopherus, purrkat - thanks for your comments on mine.
Saphirewild #2 - ooh, looks like they might be the dragon food!
3delinquent #2 - neat bubbles and what a dreamy look on her face.
Ken OBanion #2 - hmm, goth rock meets WWF! You're right, that gallows set does work for the band.
I tried a Google search found this for the Michael Jackson look-alike - I see what you mean about the difficulty of finding anything useful that way - but I did come up with these:

http://sharecg.com/v/34481 (bottom right box on the second image) - but (a) it's for David 3 and (b) it says non-commerical use
    or
http://www.beammeup.net/blog/3d-celebrities/poser-celebrities-20.php - part-way down the page, it goes to a google drive download but I've no idea what are the terms of use or which figure it's for.

Thank you, MelanieL (once again; you always manage to save my tuchus!)

I did find the Google Drive download (and FWIW, it's for Genesis, which dovetails quite nicely with my Gunner for David 5 pull -- David 5 is a Genesis-based character), but I haven't had a chance to inspect it yet.  But from the look of the promo image, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to 'cadaver-ize' him, to get the look I'm after!

And I'm not going to say any more, at the risk of tipping my hand!  (I just hope there aren't any die-hard fans watching this thread!  Because I plan to be..., well, kinda brutal!)

Hey, folks, I'm having a bit of an issue, here....

I have my latest scene composed and ready to render, but Iray is being a real b!tch!  I start the render, it does its preliminary stuff, then after about ten or eleven minutes, it starts counting the iterations.  After about thirty or so, it suddenly announces that the image is 100.00% converged, and starts wrapping things up.  (And it takes freakin' forever to do that!)  It also throws in a few 'Iray render canvas was written' messages -- which are patently untrue; nothing gets sent to the output window.  Ever.  At all.

I suspect the issue is with the lighting in that Via Serena environment, so I've been jacking around with those: turning on Photometric mode, and applying the Iray Uber Base shader to all of my surfaces.  Nothing seems to work.

I also tried switching to 3DL; it got about a quarter of the way through the image, and just stopped.  Nothing else was added after almost eleven hours.

Has anybody had any issues with that Via Serena environment, and the light set that came with it?  Or am I going to have to declare a "product that doesn't work", draw something else, and hope I get lucky, and not have to start over from scratch?

Well I just loaded Via Serena, Camera1 and v1Lights1 into DS4.9.1.30 (yes I'm behind the times) and rendered in 3Delight - took precisely 5 seconds! 'll try Iray-ing it and see what happens there.

Ah, I've done it (took a lot less time than I expected) - I simply set every surface to Iray Base, made all the lights photometric and rendered. 27 seconds later, it claims "convergence threshold reached) but everything is very black! So I took out the skydome and tried again - seems to be rendering fine (I guess all the lights are distance lights and don't shine through that dome). I presume this isn't your problem?

You got more than I did -- at least you got a black screen!  All I got was an alpha channel (transparency)!

But I'll try eighty-sixing the skydome; I had forgotten that it was part of the pre-load, and Iray hates skydomes worse than..., worse than Donald Trump hates anyone who laughs at his hair!  (And, um, that would be me.)

If the clicks aren't in time with the music's cadence (like a metronome), then I can totally understand the filthy looks! cheeky
