3rd party content

In DAZ 4.9 is there a way to get 3rd party content I installed manually to show up in the alphabetical products listing?
Edited to add: If I purchased and used this product https://www.daz3d.com/content-package-assist would it add the product to the product listing?

I think you would have to use the new tool to make "DIM friendly" zip files to be able to have DAZ recognise that they are there and can be categorized, but I'm not one hundred percent certain of that.
Thanks. I just edited my original post to ask if that would work or not.
Yes, if you use Content Package Assist and install it with DIM, DIM will create a Product entry.
Thanks, Mike. I really hate to pay full price for it; but in this case I may have to because I have a lot of 3rd party content and it is getting to be a real pain to find the products after I install them.
Even at full price, if you use DIM to install your files the CPA is worth every penny! I love it so much and am so greatful I was able to put aside my own efforts of creating something to put 3rd party content into the alphabet listing.
I recently installed the 4.9 beta. I'm still using 4.8, but trying to get comfortable in 4.9, too. Anyway, the last order I made, including Kimo 7, was showing up as needing to be downloaded and installed, even though I had installed via DIM. I did some site searching via Google and found a solution in a couple of threads. The thing is, after applying the solution, some of my third party content showed up in some unexpected places... maybe it's the solution you need: Re-import the meta-data.
You need to open your Content DB Maintenance window. I know I've seen it in more than one menu, but I use the menu via the Content Library. Just open that tab and click on the Menu icon, (small gray square with horizontal lines, see first attached image.) In the resulting fly-out menu, select Content DB Maintenance. A dialog window will appear.
In the Content Database Maintenance dialog window, (see second attached image,) select Re-import Metadata and click on the Accept button.
Another window will open with all your installed products. The third attached image shows the bottom of the list of products I have installed. Notice Dusk and Dawn are listed there, along with some freebies from Mec4d's birthday celebration last year... At this point, you can de-select items if you prefer. I just ran it with everything selected.
It took a good ten minutes for the process to complete, so be patient. The length of time will vary depending on the speed of your machine and the number of items it needs to process. And I'd love to know if this solved your issue.
L'Adir: Thanks for the suggestion; but no it won't work for what I need because there is no metadata. I had tried that but canceled after it didn't show up in the listing.
The particular item that brought this up was Dinoraul's Mammoth which is basically a Poser item and doesn't have metadata; but I have a lot of other similar items to install as well
There is a video on Youtube with instructions for adding Metadata to your products: Adding MetaData in DAZ Studio 4 6
It's been a while since I followed the instructions, but you may be able to glean a short cut to just adding something for the products to show up in the product list. Of course, "a lot of other similar items" may be too many to add metadata to one at a time...
Wish I could be more helpful.
Since all you're looking for is an entry in the Product List, DIM will create that automatically if a product doesn't have metadata.
It seems the content package assist is for Windows only and I'm on a Mac. Does anyone know if there is a Mac version in the works?
