when I load the G3F base and click on currently used in the parameters tab it list 3 items...SubD level of 2, Mouth Realism HD 100% and Navel 100%...should you reset these all to zero before exporting? I want to use the obj in silo to practice modelling clothing around and I recall somewhere that these affected the finished product somehow ,of course searching the forums is mostly impossible, and I couldn't find any info now about this.

Yes when exporting make sure all resolution is set to base and morphs, definitely the HD Morphs are set to 0. (you can keep non-HD morphs provided when you import your modified mesh as a morph you check reverse deformations in the morph loader panel)
edit although tecnically if you're using it just to model around you don't really need to (my reading comp sucks today) its still a good practice (and setting it to base res does make a smaller file and less memory hit
thanks I will set them all to zero then before exporting as I may use the same base for other types of modelling in the future as I get better at it. Right now I am just following a tutorial in which the outfit being created was actually for V4 but I wanted to do it for G3F so a little adaptation may be necessary. Is there any other settings that are necessary for exporting into Silo? Eventually I am hoping to do this in Blender, but for now Silo is good and not so complicated.
