Locking selection in Daz preview window?

How do I select something in the Daz preview window and then keep the selection from changing to different active items as I move the mouse? It's a simple thing, and someone mentione dit here before, and I can't remember...

That shouldn't happen unless you click on another item or a blank area of the viewport. Is it only in the DS viewport that you get selection oddities? If not it may be a loose connection in your mouse.
