GIMP 2 help please!

Hi! I want to make a move effect on the rear part of a car. I did but I can only selecct all the scene. There is a tool to selecct only a part of the image?

    cntrl-T brings up the tool box, but there is a menu option to display it aswell.

    Since I switched to Single Window Mode, I had never lost my Tool Box again. :-)

    Take a look at the top menues: Windows => Single-Window Mode

    Thanks for help me! I found the toolbox but I still can't find the layer tab in the tool box

    It's me again. I found everything and have already make the effect in my image!
