I finally got the masking and color correction tutorial streamed and uploaded properly. It shows how to use Mask and Multipass Toolbox available here: (http://www.daz3d.com/mask-and-multipass-toolbox) and some basic postwork in Photoshop to help make your renders more interesting, as well as a link to a free Photoshop action and curve of mine. I hope it can be helpful!

Thanksssssssssssssss!!! Snow Sultan
I'll be watching it. This is on my wishlist of both the Toolbox and learning how to use it.
You're welcome! I think it shows how just a little postwork and color correction can make a huge difference in a final image's look, and how useful Draagonstorm's utility is. 40% off at the moment too. ;)
Thanks for that, Snow. I've watched the video and even though I've had the Mask & Multipass Toolbox since it came out, it's one of the products I use most often and I know what it's capable of, it's always startling to see the difference between an image after a succession of small improvements and the original. The photoshop action and the curves preset were appreciated - it had never even crossed my mind until now that you could save a curves preset :)
Oh yeah you can save Curves and all kinds of other presets in Photoshop. I should have mentioned two other things in that tutorial: that you can also save presets (called 'recipies') in the Nik Tools plugins as well and that the original render was done with the default Ruins HDRI and no other changes.
I'm glad it could be useful! Thanks again.
I haven't had a chance to watch the video yet, but I did go ahead and get the toolbox since it was already on my wishlist and on sale. So, I'm ready once I watch the video to actually try it out.
You must have been reading my mind.
I've had the toolbox in my wishlist for a while and finally bought it yesterday.
This video was just what I needed to get my masks working. Got a brain meltdown when they didn't render as intended and it never occured to me to change the materials before masking. Thank you!
And thank you for the freebie, such a great timesaver :)
Knittingmommy, I hope the video will help explain how to use it well enough. :) The most important things to remember are to switch back to 3Delight to render the masks and to be sure to convert all surfaces that are not using the default shader. Almost any problems you might have are usually caused by one of those two things.
Wow Ferretmania, good timing! Yeah the toolbox takes a little figuring out (not the creator's fault, it's how it has to handle non-default shaders), but it's sure useful! Thank you for watching!
Hello Sultan the link in the video is inactive. Is there another link for the Action? Thank you in advance.
My Google-sense is tingling:
Everything OK with this video and the link? They should be working, but let me know if anyone's having any problems.
looks good to me so far...haven't watched it all.
Thank you for this, Snowsultan. Post is my favorite part of the process- and these masks are so much easier than just rendering items separately!
