Project Hairy 456

Buying Project Hairy 456 I was assuming, knowing it's a Jepe product, it would be complete, with gens... but sadly it's not! An update wouldn't be bad.

It's for Geoshells - I don't think they need "special" Gens materials.

Oh yes!!! It does need materials... the geoshell covers also the gens...

  • Sorry, I'm a bit confused right now - what do you think should be on the geometry shells for Gens? I indeed have such a set but it was never sold here because I wasn't (and am) not allowed to sell a standalone gens pack here, which is totally understandable. But beside wet and jewels, I'm not sure what else would you expect?

    Hair, probably?

  • I think that since M4 we have so many and various additional pubic hair solutions, a geometry shell for only the pubic hair would be a waste of resources, don't you think?

No idea... I don't use the gens on the guys&gals in 99,9% of my renderings. wink

Though that is a question to answer for the OP, anyway.

Maybe I am wrong, but if I apply the geometry shell to a character that has gens, the shell is covering everything. When I apply the material to the shell, it ends at the hip surface. Even after copying the hip surface to the gens hip surface, there is a very ugly cut at the seems. I was just aspecting that there would be a material there as well. I would like to post a picture of what I mean but... you know ;-)

I know what you mean and I'm sorry that this is a bit disappointing, but the Project Hairy Maps are made for M4 UV Layout that is a bit restricted. Geografted anatomical elements are unfortunatly not supported. Slosh made the M4 UV for G2M afaik and there is a solution to cover the seams. If and how this works with the hairy maps I havn't tried out yet since I don't use Genesis or G2M genitals in general.

Yes, I own M4 UV for G2M, it helps, if the proper maps would be there... I also own Jepe's Nathan. I tryed one thing, I just took the specular map from Nathan and used it as transparency and displacement map. It looks ok... but I don't know if it will work with every hairstyle... But anyways, this helped me out on this one special character. laugh

I love every Jepe product I've seen but i agree with Ralf1958. I am surprised the genitals not included. I know there are other solutions but the reason i get many products is because its an easier solution.

  • I just got the Project Hairy 456 from Daz but when i add hairy to M4, his boby dissappears. How do i get his body back with the body hair?

First you have to create or apply from the presets a Geometry Shell, select it and then apply the Bodyhair MATs to it. It's like a second skin to the figure.

  • Hello Jepe, I need an update for Project Hairy 456, without gen mats, its a waste of money for me. I can't apply other gen mats also. Please either give gen's mats or masked geoshell which doesn't cover genital.

Apply the appropriate geoshell to the Figure, apply the Project 456 presets to the geoshell, go to the Parameter Tab and look at the botton for Visibility.... click off the gens which will begin with WP.... render.

Thankyou nemesis10, I tried this but If I turn off the visibility of gen shell, pubic hairs will not be visible. Please see attachment. Is there any solution for that?

In general, again, Bodyhair Project 456 doesn't support genitals, it was originally made for Michael 4 and he has no geografted gens, his gens were parented, not connected to the main figure.

When working with G2M, the genitals have two material zones, Genitalia and Hips - therefore also the shell has them. "Hips" has the same UV as the hip on the main figure's shell, that makes the seam area a bit smaller, but you can't get rid of the seams completely. Painted on pubic hair on the skin texture as well as an additional fibermesh pubic hair prop helps to cover that area. If it all doesn't help, some postwork in Photoshop is required.

But beside all this I always would suggest trying out Genesis 3 or Genesis 8 Male with Project 78.
