I was playing around with some G3M and a Genesis characters, changing morphs and materials, adding some hair, and I noticed when I saved the scene the file some on some where larger than. I thought.
If I make a character that I want to save to use later, wh as t are the best ways of reducing the file sizes. I used to know how to do this in Poser, but I've switched to Daz Studio.and need some help.
Thanks in advance everyone

Did you add any hair or clothing and used auto-fit? This can significantly increase the size of the saved file.
To save a character you can always used File->Save As->Character Preset.
This saves the character's material settings and shape, and the file saved should be reasonable small
No clothing just added genitals, hair and some earrings.
Does using auto fit increase the file size?
Auto-fit changes the geometry of the item fitted, and this is stored in your main saved file, which can increase a saved file with one character from a normal size of 40-50K to one of several megabytes. One solution is to save any autofitted hair or clothes as an asset first, then delete the auto-fitted one and add the item you just saved.
To save an autofitted item you do the following: File->Save As->Support Asset->Figure/Prop Asset.
This creates a separate duf file and supporting geometry files in you library. Re-add the item (this time autofit will not be needed) and when you save your file it should be much smaller.
Sorry if this sounds complex, it gets easier after you have done it a few times.
Thanks for the information, the file size a fraction of what it was originally.
