RIP Patrick Stewart

Very sad news that Patrick Stewart has passed away.  I feel he represented the best that humanity can be.

Very sad news. He will be missed

  • Indeed. Just like I watched TOS with my Dad (& later re-watched with middle school friends), I watched TNG with very good adult friends.

Very sad & a One - Two punch right after we lost Walter Koenig.

Hard to believe, but Patrick Stewart represented an era, where the good guys have been the hero of the show and have tought morality to the kids.

    Rest in Peace and

    make it so

I'm very pissed off about this Grim Reaper dude... he keeps taking all the wrong people.

...first Walter Koenig, now Sir, Patrick Stewart

I always thought it was the perfect call for him to portray the captian of the Federation's flagship. He brought a sense of dignity to the Star Trek universe

Patrick Stewart will be in the Avengers Doomsday movie.

He played Proferssor X, leader of the X-Men in a few X-Men Movies.

Obviously they filmed his part before he died.

Such a class act in so many ways. The world is a darker place without him in it, but forever brighter for the light he left behind.

...he did the voice of "Number One".leader of the "Stonecutters". in the Simpsons episode titled Homer the Great.

Another live action role he portrayed was the character Gurney Halleck who was Warmaster for House Atreides in the 1984 Dune film.

Condolences. We used to come back in to the dorms from working weekends at home to our commuter college and tune into Star Trek: the Next Generation. That show was every pit as good as the original.

He also voice King ... Septim in The Elder Scrolls IV - Oblivion, as I recall.

And he was Gurney Halleck in the first Dune movie.

  • It was a shock - but it has brought the Star Trek community together. I returned to playing STO - and a number of players have been gathering around the memorial on Starfleet Academy.

I first saw him in Excalibur and then Dune .. so long ago. He emanated such class as Picard - truly a captain of a flagship.

We all have to go sometime and I guess there can be no real shock when someone travels on at age 86. But those places he went in the world of film are better for him having been there and there's a sense of loss that there will be no more of those places with him in them going forward.
