Making displacement fur go one way?

Hi. I'm customizing a coat to have a fur lining inside. So outside is leather, and inside is a negative geoshell (-0.1). The idea is to make the geoshell inside be fur, but the displacement is such that when I use a fur shader, it pokes in and out of the coat. So even if I reversed the values, the displacement would stick in both directions.

I'll be working on some T&E, but does anyone understand the displacement sliders more to explain how I can possibly just fix it first? I know there's min, max, and displacement, I just don't really know how they work, and if they can go in one direction at all. Thank you.

If you add a geoshell with a negative value, I am fairly certain that that will mean that the normals inside is reversed.

So in order to get inside fur, I would suggest maximum to 0 and mimimum maybe -0.5.

Else let us see the result.

I've tried that, so far not getting the result I wanted though

What does it look like if you hide the coat?

I did some test. If you set Maximum displacement below 0.05 the displacement won't show.

So you can try setting miminum to -0.2 and max to 0.1, and a offset for the geoshell at -.0.12.

You also have to be aware of that a shader might not give the expected result in the negative values. And have enough subD for the displacment.
