easy tutorial for saving custom character -> sliders, please (Daz 4.24)

Hello, wondering if anyone can rec a tutorial (YouTube would be best) on saving my custom G9 character to sliders. (I'm trying to make a G8 clone, but the wonderful video that was rec'ed to me for that one requires sliders for it to work.)

I went looking on YouTube and my eyes crossed trying to figure out what would be easiest (and still work? some of those videos were pretty old...). I'm getting better at some of the technical stuff, but much of it still flies right over my head (and I have yet to open any of the companion softwares, I've only been working in DS so far) and so mercy in the complexity department would be appreciated.

TIA for anyone who can point me a direction...

    1. Have the character and nothing else applied to the figure
    2. Right-click in the parameters mode and check edit Mode (if it isn't, but I assume not)
    3. Right-click in the group (on the left of the pane) you want to add the slider to and select Create New Property
    4. Name (internal) and label (what apepars on the sldier) are required, Path should be what you want already, you may want to adjust the Min/Max values (e.g. set min to 0 if you don't want it going negative). Set the Type to Modifier/Shape
    5. Click Create.
    6. Set the new slider to 100%
    7. right-click on the new slider>ERC Freeze
    8. check that the right things are listed in Sub-components - you can uncheck any interlopers that should not be part of your character
    9. Click Accept

Test to make sure everything works.

If you want this to be available on all characters based on the figure, rather than just this one loaded via a Scene/Scene Subset/Character or Persona preset

    1. zero the slider (saving with it non-zero will make it permanently on)
    2. File>Save As>Support Assets>Modifier Asset (not Modified Assets)
    3. select your morph slider in the hierarchy at the bottom of the dialogue
    4. In the dialogue the names you enter for author, product etc. are used as folder names in the /data/Daz 3d/Genesis 9/base/Morphs/ folder in the content directory listed at the top of the option dialogue; edit these as desired, and if you want chnage the content directory used to make it easier to back your files up without having to back up all your store content.
    5. Click Accept

Load a new figure and make sure it has your morph, and that it is loading at zero. If you do have issues you can either adjust and resave using the same options, or you can delete the saved files from the Data folder and start over.

Richard, should step 1 be "have the character with your changes and nothing else on the character"? Or is there some other step I'm not seeing where you aren't create a base GenX slider?

That was what it was meant to mean.

Thank you so much for this! Today is absolute chaos (youngest kiddo having a really dysregulated day) but I'll be diving into this as soon as I can manage it.
