Render silently to file

There is a way to render directly to file without any render window popping up?

In the Render Settings Editor tab in the General section, you can change the render target to File and enter the image name. When you start the render, a progress window will pop up, but no image render window will be displayed. I don't know if the progress window can be suppressed.

Thank you @barbuit. I'll check if the SDK allows to do that with code.

If I remember well even scripts do that, I would be astonished if plugins could not.
