Creating a "smart Prop: for an genesis figure

How do I convert a purchased prop to a :smart prop" for any genesis figure? To automatically go to a character's hand for instance.

The following steps should get you the intended result (it'll also work if you want to create a smart prop for any kind of rigged item):

    1. Load the base Genesis figure you want to create the smart prop for (so Genesis 9 Base if it's for Genesis 9, you can also use the Dev version which remove anything parented to it)

    2. Load the prop you want to 'smartify'

    3. Move it where you want (let's say the hand if it's a phone)

    4. Parent it to the nearest bone

    5. Select the Genesis figure

    6. Open File > Save As > Wearable Presets

    7. In the list of Nodes, only keep the prop you want as a smart prop (which is why using the Dev version for G8 or G9 is so useful: you'll only have your prop in that list).

If you want to create a pose, you can also save it with a Wearable preset, and it's best to only save the pose data for the bones whose pose was changed (using the phone example, you should only save the pose data for the hand carying the phone).

Once done, the wearable preset will automatically put the smart prop where you want (there could be some small differences due to the difference between the used character morph and the base shape, but it should be at least in the vicinity).
