Recommendation sought for a character: Middle-aged mother, bit out of shape.

Dear all,
I am looking for a G9 female character to play the role of a Caucasian, American, 40-year-old mother of two. If I squint, some characters look like they could be forty, for example
Ashley 9 | Daz 3D
or
Sigrid 9 | Daz 3D

but, candidates in the store generally don't have enough wrinkles, padding and their breasts are too perky, to be convincing playing the role as a middle-aged soccer mom.
Do any of you have a recommendation for a top-quality, near-photorealistic character who might credibly fill the role?
Thanks in advance!

    Check out Feng characters:
    https://www.daz3d.com/feng
on their own, many might be looking too old for what you need, but mixing them with other characters might give you what you're looking for.

You could try this set, three generations of female. https://www.daz3d.com/mother-and-daughters-hd-for-genesis-8-female

I've had some nice results rendering these ladies.

You could look at picking up aging morphs (https://www.daz3d.com/aging-morphs-for-genesis-9) to apply the finishing touches to a character you have that is on the right track.

For the body in Genesis 9 the essentials bundle (https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-9-essential-shapes-bundle) has some body morphs that you could use to make changes to the body and have it look a bit out of shape.

The below character is Genesis 8, but I used the equavilent morph pack for the aging.

    Default:

    Aged:

    2560 x 2560 - 5M

G8 has a much better selection of middle aged characters than G9... most of the G9s, like Feng's, tend to be a bit overdone in terms of looking haggard, while others don't look nearly old enough.  If you are certain you want to go with G9 I'd recommend Lucas if you want frumpy and out of shape and then dial her back a bit as to me she looks to be in the late forties, or DAV Billie for Genesis 9 HD who's more what I see women of that age presenting themselves these days.

...you do realize 40-year-old moms come in all shapes and sizes, right?

It's fine if you have a particular image in your head for your character, but my circle of fellow middle-aged moms are really diverse as far as physical form (yes, including breasts and belly). So if you're looking for "convincing"... there's a range. (I mean, obviously none of us looks 13, but...).

I suggest that you use a DAZ Original "tough guy" male, morph in the feminine body, add the makeup & wala, middle aged mother!

Noted. In my circle of friends there is also a distribution. I don't want to have a character who presents as being at the tail end of any distribution, though, because it will distract from the story. Some eleven-year-olds are over six feet tall. If my story introduced a such a character, however, then a lot of readers would be thinking about what the parents had fed that bean stalk, not what I want them to think about as they enjoy my masterpiece. If "my" soccer mom has a BMI of 29 and breast that sag somewhat, then noone is going to get distracted and think "yeah right!".

Maybe the younger version of Olga could work? (though she's marketed as older than you asked)

It's not part of my collection, but it looks great.

I'm not sure DAZ has any idea as to what the actual age some of their characters are supposed to be.  That said, I think the thing that really throws one off about this request is the use of the term soccer mom with the qualifier "candidates in the store generally don't have enough wrinkles, padding and their breasts are too perky,"  From what I've seen and read, most modern soccer moms are in their 30s with many in their 20s and the early 40s being the upper end of the spectrum, Also, most hold full time jobs, and are generally in fairly good health in order to keep up with their kids, which is why I listed one character that I thought met the request for wrinkles and padding, etc.,  but that I felt probably looked a bit too old with the suggestion to dial it back, and then another that I felt was much closer to someone you'd actually see on the sidelines or unloading the SUV.

I'm not a soccer mom because my kids aren't into sports, but I've got a 3rd grader and a 9th grader and am within sight of 50, and am definitely not an outlier in my group, so... just depends on how long of a journey one had to getting the kids. smiley

As for "too perky" breasts in the original request... a good bra can do a lot... just sayin'. wink

Regarding body shape, I would recommend HevieState3D products, which are not sold here.

I mentioned about that in another thread in that there was an in thing few years ago where a lot of ladies including older ones were hitting the gym working out, body building and lifting weights and I knew a few that were into this

Thanks, Navigator. Cate wins the casting process and will star in my VN - in the unlikely event I ever get it done. Reason, good skin, wrinkles and I can buy the "curvy" addition and dial up/down her BMI.
Cybersox and SilverGirl, thanks for your comments. I wonder if you live in a metropolitan area. I used to live in rural KY and without wanting to be unkind, in the Heartland, the shapes you describe are not common among forty something moms. Gyms are expensive. Running trails are likely far away. Food tends to be greasy. So, let's not fat-shame my girl (the actor previously known as Cate) who has already been written in as being from Kansas City.

Just be careful when buying, on some sites she only sells under a "personal use license" which is very restrictive about when you can do with her products.

Oh not fat-shaming at all. There are definitely heavier-set moms in my group... it just isn't all of them by any means, so heavier isn't the ONLY realistic shape, just ONE shape that is realistic.

I'm from the suburbs outside Minneapolis, so... likely does impact that demographic somewhat. Gyms are every bit as expensive up here, but we're blessed with a really fantastic trail system and a lot of options for outdoor recreation in general. (Plus, shoveling snow is a fantastic workout, dontcha know!)

Regardless, I'm glad you found someone who fits what you were after, and I wish you luck with your project. :)

  • If you want another option, the premier version of Audrey 9, Alice, is a decent option too.  https://www.daz3d.com/audrey-9-hd-character-bundle.  I used an aging morph on her to be about the same age and it looks quite good.  I mixed her slightly with her 'daughter' for a family resemblance.

Sigrid is a great model to work with. I did an aging sequence render a while back with her in the gallery where I made an older and younger version to put side by side with the original. I thought it turned out well.

FYI, the Age for Genesis 9 is a nice simple straight forward product I use a lot for Genesis 9:

    Good hunting and happy rendering!
