Trying to get the toon canvas to work.

I'm trying to get the toon canvas to work in iRay but all I get is a white silhouette on a black background. 

I tried following the steps here:

to no avail

    Do you have a distant light? Filament requires it. It's how the outline shadow is created.

    Canvasses only work for iray. It's not the same thing as FilaToon.

    No worries, it gets confusing at times.
