Please show file sizes on the product page!

I am seriously getting fed-up up of buying modest-looking products that turn out to be over a gigabyte in size. A scale that (now I have thousands of other Daz products already installed) has sadly become a deal-breaker for me. I can't bring myself to request refunds for every single one, particularly if they've been on offers, but it does mean they're destined to linger endlessly in my product library - uninstalled. I'm not suggestinfg artists stop making products with extra large download sizes (though many could take lessons in optimisation) but just give customers this information before they make the purchase, to better inform their decisons. Seems straightforward enough?

I should clarify I'd like to see this as the responsibility of Daz as the central vendor, not of the individual artists. In the same way they already show the file formats, compatible figures, and install types.

  • Yeah, I noticed some artists just ship the same exact textures for each of their hair and cloth products. So customers end up with redundant files just sitting in different folders. This is extremely wasteful, they should just use a common folder for same files and separate one for different files like cutout textures. Whats more sad is these are from more popular vendors.

Storage space has become a major obstacle when choosing products. I've already uninstalled many high-capacity HDRI products, and some newly purchased products are still unable to be installed. If I had known they had such large capacities, I wouldn't have bought them now.

I've heard prices for SSD storage are completely crazy now, and some say they're likely to remain so for quite some time. I can see why knowing file size when shopping would be useful.
