No matter when she passed, it was going to be too soon, but... definitely, definitely too soon.
I hope the afterlife is all she hoped it would be. Goodness knows she deserves it.
Rest in Peae Dolly. You have made the world a better place.
Obviously a legendary artist, but I've always seen Dolly mainly as a good, fun-loving, kind-hearted woman. No matter what was going on in the world, it was always nice to see her pop up and to listen to what she had to say, no matter what it was she was talking about really.
R.I.P. Dolly.
She was one of one. What a legend ♥
RIP Dolly.
She was a great person and will be missed.
I'm not a great country fan, although I do know some of her work. However, her promotion of childhood literacy elevates her to the status of a saint in my opinion. If only everybody with money did something so amazing.
Very sad news. Condolences. I love her music & movies. That reminds me I wanted to listen to the "Baby I'm Burning" hit song from 1978.
How sad indeed. Her songs are household staples, many of them so beautiful and touching, even if one isn't a Country fan. All the best are dying now, and not too much comes after.
For a while, 'Jolene' used to be sort of our morning running gag, strangely enough; because I had to take Selenium for my thyroid, and in German, it's just 'Selen'. So any time I reminded myself audibly that I still had to take my dose, my wife would chime in with: 'Selen - selen - selen, seleeeeeen ...'
Along with the literacy support, there was her million dollar donation during Covid to help in the research for the vaccine. She helped medical science create a miracle and save unknown number of lives. And that vaccine still helps. Bless her.
Rest in Peace, dear Dolly.
The man in her life left her last year and so she could join him now again.
I was upset when I saw the news yesterday. I was hoping the email was a fake that I saw. It was not fake.
Yeah, a Country legend and a truely wonderful person who decicated herself to helping everybody. RIP
YouTube is filled with Dolly today, and I just saw this which reminded me of her sense of humour, and why I always had time to listen to her:

QUOTE:
"I wouldn't want my lower lip to fall off. That'd be like losing a hubcap, wouldn't it?"
QUOTE:
"You gotta remember that for as long as there are plastic surgeons in this world, I'm not getting any older!"

Gutted by this news. I found out on Face book yesterday and was in disbelief. Then this morning my friend John told me that Tim Curry passed away as well, both 80 years of age. Rest In Peace to the both of these amazing stars.
Another great legend is gone. RIP
Losing Tim right after Dolly is a gut punch. I hate it. I hope that's it for a while.
R.I.P Dolly
So sad about it. Great, that the movies with her are still available, and I will be watching them over and over again.
Dolly Parton slipped through my attention. Big mistake. Watching a lot of videos about her.
Man, she was on fire. Impressive Lady.
Rob Halford described her as a ball of light.
