what is the way I should be adjusting the color, skin tone, of my character in daz?

In iray if my characters skin is darker or lighter than I want it to be and I want to make a pale tone more tan or the reverse how I want to do this without making stuff look weird?

For PBR skins.

In the surfaces tab type SSS color.

If you alter this colour, the skin colour/tone will change. A lighter shade should darken the skin tone and a darker shade should make it lighter.

Just experiment with it to find the correct skin tone.

There are probably other possible settings but that's the one I generally use to alter the skin tone.
