DS6 and .DAZ files

I believe I've read DS6 can't read the old .DAZ files. And I ran into this last night.

What do I have to do in DS4 to convert/update these .DAZ files so the content is usable in DS6?

Is there a way to batch convert them? I have over 400 .DAZ files in my library. For example: "...\Props\Stonemason\Urban Sprawl 2\Sprawl Building01.daz"

Try out Legacy Set Converter. Tried it when I got it, but, as it suggests, never had the time to really play with it.

In my case, I converted them one-by-one over a few weeks.
    1) Open .daz file in daz 4
    2) Save the scene/prop etc as a duf
If you want to keep the original product thumbnail images
    3) Go to the product folder and find the original .png.  Rename it to match the .duf file you just saved and add a .png extension to it.  It might support other image formats, but .png is the only one I've seen used.

I really hate that the developers decided to hide .daz files in DS 6.  When I'm looking for a prop to use, I normally just arrown down through my library until I see something that I want/grabs my attention.  But if it's not shown, I can't see it. This forces me to premptively convvert everything rather than just converting the things I decide to use on an as-needed basis.  If they don't want to support the format that's fine, but show the files.  I hope they do something about this in a future release to save everyone a lot of unecessary homework.

Dang! Code was a featured artist a couple days ago.... Oh, From Two DIfferent Worlds is still active...

Wait. Does anyone know if Legacy Set Converter runs in DS6? Not that I would be surprised when it turns out it also requires DS4?

You will need DS4.20.1.62 or later (from the manual), but it will not run on DS6.

wow I missed that one. almost tempted to buy it today because 60% off it's very decent but this month is a bit of a pinch for me

    not for D|S6 but Carrara!
but since I can and do manually do it, not urgent

I have in fact manually resaved many over the years

13 year anniversary of when DAZ last did any development on Carrara a couple weeks ago, it's not as if I haven't had lots of time sad
