its a g8.1 conversion and some areas of the normal map are fine but some areas feel inverted like moles dig into the face when they should be raised where other areas are fine. The g9 conversion of the character the normal maps are actually correct but 8.1 they are not. Are there ways i can spot correct the normal map, I tried making a new one from the albedo in kald and another with the bump map but they both had the same problem.

How did you convert the normal map ? A normal conversion workflow shouldn't invert a normal map from DS unless you gave it specific settings ~~
Be noted, Daz Studio iRay engine uses OpenGL normal maps (right-handed), i.e. green channel up, like the one in the attached (screenshot 1)
Check how your normal map looks ~ You can fix it by inverting the green channel in GIMP or Affinity, for free.
I use Affinity. In Affinity, load the normal map, Pixel > New Adjustment Layers > Normals... > Flip Y. For partial flip, select a target area beforehand (screenshot 2)
