The canvas is too large to fit into GPU memory.

Hello,

I’ve been working on a Daz3D render involving a large map; the first two images I produced went off without a hitch, but as I progressed with my scene, Daz stopped rendering altogether (going straight to a black screen). Now, whenever I try to render—even with files containing just my base characters and nothing else—it refuses to start, and the logs show: "The canvas is too large to fit into GPU memory."

It’s honestly baffling; I’m using Daz Studio 6 with an RTX 5080 and 32GB (2x16GB) of RAM. :(

After you got the first black sceen issue, did you restart Daz Studio or even reboot your computer to see if that cleared the error state? If not, thry it.

Did you render with canvases ?

If you got a black render window and the DS 6 log told you kinda " ...ran out of VRAM..." (better post your DS log),  you may also try: Close all the render windows,  go to Render Settings pane, Hardware tab, you'll see your 5080 card checked, uncheck it and check it again. This action can completely release the consumed VRAM.

Then try another rendering again, see if that helps ~

Were you closing the earlier renders, or leaving them open? Each open render leaves its data in the GPU so that it can be resumed, and once GPU memory has run out it is usually necessary to restart DS.
