Color textures will not load on Thadeus Hair

I have been trying to change the hair color on AprilYSH Thadeus Hair with Genesis 3 Male, and I cannot get it to change. The textures seem to apply to the cap OK, I can see a color change at the hairline if the hair preview is on. but when I select the hair itself, nada. Have tried this on G3 and G8, same result. It's nice looking hair, I'm just getting irritated I cannot use it except as dull brown. I've tried a bunch of solutions I've seen on posts here and there, nothing seems to work.

With the Genesis 3 Male hair loaded and fitted and parented to Genesis 3 Male the materials work for me. Not having the hair parented  to Genesis 3 male will stop the preset from working, Hierarchical presets require the correct parent/child set-up.
