Slow figures

I'm having some issues with a few of 3DU's G8 figures, the most noticable being Novara. Applying a pose or trying to adjust a slider for anything results in a hang of up to around 60 seconds before anything happens.
I've done an asset audit and can't see anything obvious that would cause this.
I have read that having dozens of character morphs can cause slow down but it's only a handful of characters that suffer this, all but one being 3DU's characters.
Does anyone else experience this with 3DU characters? Is there a fix? It's starting to piddle me off and I'm too far into my VN to start changing characters.

It's not just character morphs, as any additional shaping presets you have also count, as do most expression packs and even parts of some pose sets, and all of those get loaded with every figure. Also, some figures have extremely large texture maps or other required assets that drag down loading. My own experience is that on average G8 starts slowing down significantly at around 100 loaded figures and G9 slows down at around 40, but I have a fairly fast computer and an Nt-Titan graphic card.
If the 3DU figures were HD, I'd expect them to be a little slower, but they're not.
Is it just the character alone in the scene or are there other elements like props, sets, other figures?
In my case, the addition of a scene makes absolutely no difference to the load times, so it's definitely a character issue.
I'm going to take a look at the texture files when I get home and see if they are high resolution, in which case I'll scale them down a bit and see if that helps.
Have you checked for formulae errors in the log file with that character? There may be a number, which slow things down.

Richard.
Anothr thing to check is whether other programs are running in the background. DAZ can hang if there are too many processes running all at once.
The only other program I run on the render PC is Visual Studio, it uses barely any resources.
I've not checked the log file admittedly, as I didn't think there were any errors, nothing pops up at all. Will try this evening.
Hair can slow down updates, especially if you have collision active on it.
OK, looking through the log, it's trying to find stuff I don't even have installed, let alone use for any characters, mainly poses and some morphs for characters I uninstalled ages ago. How do I resolve this?
It's only affecting one other regular character I use.
Oooh, switching hair collision off has made a huge difference. Cheers.
Happy that it worked for you, I've had similar issues due to hair.
