Anime Muscle & Face Sketch Lines Like DBZ.

Has anyone thought of or know of a more modular way to add sketch line details within Daz. That way muscles get outlines around the creases, As well the skecth line bruises. When i look at content like FPE Scars i can't help but wonder if such an approach was used to quickly add various sketch lines all over the body and face DBZ Style.

Sketch lines that outline the eyes, and then be able to add a sketch line preset on the face to add the lines we see on Anime Characters Such as Goku, who also has various sketch lines in between his eyes, near his eyebrows, under the mouth near the chin, on the neck. I belive any anime face and anime body morphs would look more detailed if such outlines were provided.

Anime Abs, would look more defined as well any other Anime Muscle Details.

As well the anime style of bruises or clothes scuffs are different then the realistic bruises that's currently in the Daz 3D Store. The only way to achive this look is to transfer the Daz 3D Anime charachter to Blender, Z brush or another similar program and brush the lines in. Then  transfer them back. I know because i already have such models in Daz. Perhaps another system such as the fpe scars could be created to add these sketch details. or some new Daz sculpting tool to achive such result without having to go outside of Daz to create anime modles like in the DBZ & Bleach images here.

I actually had intended to create anime bruises for filatoon like I did with the scars, precisely like your DBZ references, but unfortunately the market just isn't there :(. For us, at least, our filatoon products didn't sell as well as we had hoped. And I keep seeing filatoon content in the outlet store, so my guess is that this may also be the experience of other PAs.

But if I ever get a chance (maybe in between products or something) I will definitely think about creating the bruises. Though that would be more a labor of love rather than a smart investment, so it may be a while before I can do it, as I need to earn money since we do this for a living.

Most of the filatoon releases (in the "heyday" of filatoon products) were when filatoon was new a few years ago. Are you market numbers also from that time period? I realize you probably don't want to take the risk yourself. But realistically, how many Daz users were doing filatoon when filatoon was new. I enjoy filatoon but even I can't make great use of it because the libraries are tiny and it looks like PAs are shy about supporting it. A catch-22.

vikike176 released some filatoon backgrounds yesterday and I've purchased it. A drop in the bucket. And not exactly the kind of filatoon I'm searching for. But I can hope and dream. It's too bad Daz doesn't incentivize it.

Our filatoon products were released months after filatoon was introduced. But I do love the style and want to support it. So I will do my best to add some products for it for sure. :)

I often use Filament myself for speed reasons, and not keen on Filatoon so understand where FenixPhoenix is coming from

most people want the opposite, more realistic or they trace or postwork their renders

or use AI as a filter but I understand the reluctance for that too

I look forward to seeing the day you're able to accomplish this. i like you scars assests. And find them equally important. I've recently understood how people know how to do conversions of any model as well. And i must say it works  exceedingly well especially. Since i can make even the most realistic characters into an anime style. My friend was able to convert regular 3d of jumpforce into the style of  DBZ Sparking zero as seen in this video.   I know alot of diffrent techniques myself. Both Blender, and unreal have such tools as Filatoon to accomplish this. But i've always found it more usefull the less need of having to leave one program to accomplish  the task.

There's alot of procedural, modular and shader tools available out there. but this suggestion is the only one i've yet to see, especially something that helps with sketching the line details. I work with a community of creators who create anime content daily, so it's what we prefer.

These are Actual DBZ characters in Daz but such characters required outside creation to achieve this, also why I suggested this. It's the only thing missing design wise for anime characters the sketch lines details or the sketch lines scuffs and bruises. I appreciate you taking the time to listen. But I see a lot of great potential within Daz that's very capable. I have many other ideas as well that I'd love to discuss with all of you creators.

This is a thread about adding an anime feel and there's a thread nearby about anime teeth. Non-realistic rendering isn't completely dead.

    and I do some myself

just not with Filatoon, I use postwork

anyway, I was simply agreeing with FenixPhoenix about using Filatoon, NOT Anime

I believe the fastest method is to modify the UV map directly; at least that's what I do for other 3D characters.

I think most Filatoon products have the wrong style. The mainstream cel-shaded 3D products on the market look like the picture above, while Filatoon products mostly have a greasy, blurry feel that's far from the mainstream style. Although I really want 3D cel-shaded products, I currently have no intention of buying Filatoon. This is, in my opinion, the best Filatoon product: https://www.daz3d.com/princess-petras-filatoon-twin-tails-for-genesis-9. I don't know how much effort it would take to adjust other products to this level, while this is an excellent product with a different style: https://www.daz3d.com/cnsrd-toon-for-mira-9. I think the latter also has great potential.

If more products like the two I mentioned were available, and highly modular, I believe overall sales would increase.

My point was is this because filatoon doesn't have enough support? Because what I love about filatoon is you hit render.... And it's done. Any toon-work I do, I do in filatoon. And it would save even more time if there was more shader support for it. Sadly, most of my work is photorealistic.

Me personally i love it, and this thread was also created with the intent for the Daz devs themselves to continue to add more to filatoon, as well any other creator who desires. This Cloud i did, i feel didn't turn out too bad, and the shader's i feel are good towards the exact style i was looking for so im satisfied. Especially since most Cell shaded characters don't have all the crazy sketch details we would see in a DBZ game. but i can also understand where you guys are coming from. certain things didn't meet your expectations.

I must say these do look really good as well, and they have settings to use them to effect the appearance of other models into this same style. Which is a very smart idea. I  hope more creators continue to drop content like this. Also i hear you on the greesy oily appearance, but on the right model it works. Especially DBZ style characters which gives the appearance of the Raging Blast, Or Xenoverse shaders. But it doesn't work too well for someone like Kratos, as ive done it. But other shaders worked better. I agree 100% about making things more modular would boost sales for all creators who makle such content.

Development of products is most often driven by markets. That is why in the 1964 the 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang was a hot seller and later in the 1970s fuel effeciant Japanese imports.

I had started experimenting and working on a matcap product for Filatoon to create different comic styles. But then I got distracted by other projects. I'll see if I can revisit it soon.

    That's awesome, I can't wait!

Although I don't know exactly what it will look like, your products are always great.
