File takes ages to load after medning the library, what's still broken?

tl;dr: file system curruption. Restored 9 months old backup, copied over manually the files that are still intact. Probably some will still be missing. 

I tried to simply "re-install" from DIM but had to abort when that depleted disk space. Might re-attempt that. Or simply re-install Daz completely.

But for now: 

I watched the log as the scene file I tried loaded, and so far it loads the people, buildings etc, but then when loading the scene it gets stuck all of a sudden and for some ten minutes absoluteley nothing was happening, mouse pointer in a spin, no new entries in the log file at all. 
What's happening? What is Studio doing or waiting for for 10 minutes? 

(I'd simply strace if this was a Linux program. I'd pay money for a Linux port. Hell I'd subscribe to Premier for that.)

Fixed, I think: turns out "Smart Content Finder" plugin (Rendo) caused the troubles.
