Daz Studio 6 or whatever it's called now

I was successfully using the Alpha, within whatever limits it had. Then one day I discovered that 6 became available and stupidly removed the Alpha and installed 6. Since then I hadn't had a chance to actually do anything until a few days ago. Now, I'm trying to convert some G2 and G3 figures using DS4 (and the only tool that works successfully is Riversoft's Character Converter) and then to use them in DS6. The problem is that I can't. Use them in DS6 that is. Or any other figure at all. I can't even load a basic G9. It stalls. I could let it sit there for hours and nothing would change. My log file tells me about myriad duplicate formulas or circular ERCs or unsupported formulas. None of those things ever stopped DS4 from loading a figure, they never even stopped the Alpha. But the release of DS6? Halted in its tracks seemingly. For all the thousands I've spent here on assets, I have some small expectation of being able to use them from time to time. I was actually looking forward to being able to utilize my 9950x3d with 192GB of RAM and a 5090 GPU. Alas, I seem to be depricated to using DS4x in CPU rendering, since I can't use my 3090 in the same rig unfortunately. All this waiting (and so much $$ on assets) for nothing it seems. Is there any chance this situation might improve?

G2 and G3 characters work just fine in DS6. I suspect you have some configuration issue. When you install DS6 it doesn't copy the configuration for DS4. You have to align them manually.

If that's not the problem, are there errors in your log.txt file (in the appdata/Roaming/Daz 3D/Studio6 directory)?

Errors, yes. Possibly not more than I'm accustomed to though in DS4. Could you explain what you mean by aligning them manually?

I mean that was a typo or something. You'd have to copy the dsx files in the appdata/Roaming/Daz 3D/Studio4 directory to the appdata/Roaming/Daz 3D/Studio6 directory. This has some pitfalls though. So make sure you back up the Studio6 directory before copying. This will restore your layouts mostly. The problem will be any plugins you have in DS4 probably won't exist in DS6. So that can result in missing panels and menu/toolbar actions that don't do anything.

Or, you can make them similar by manually fixing DS6 so that it resembles your DS4 configuration. (And that's where using the word "align" makes some sense.)

Do the content directory settings match? Edit>Preferences>Content tab>Content Directory Manager in both applications.
