GeoShells visibility resetting in Daz 4.24 after "save as" or on loading scene.

I know you folks will have the answer. So I have multiple GeoShells on a model. I go into each Shell  in the Parameters tab, select the shell option, and then go down and turn off each visibilty option that is interfering with another shell. This used to fix the issue, but now I'm finding that when I do a "save as" for the scene, or have to reload it, all those shell visibilities are back on. I've even tried locking each one down, but the lock doesn't hold either. Any suggestions as how to permanently lock them off please? Or why it's now reseting the visibilities even with just a 'Save as"?

I look forward to being enlightened.

i would like to know too. in my case mine always reset any time I use the geometry editor. I always have to go back and fix the visibility if i have multiple geoshells in the scene. a real PITA.

I've never experienced geoshell visibility issue coming from "Save As"... but yes, some tools like Geometry Editor / Node Weight Brush / Mesh Grabber / Geometry Sculptro will reset geoshell visibility when there're geo-graft(s) on the figure. Because the visibility toggles of geo-graft areas on the geoshell are reset when you switch back from these tools to normal tools (Translate / Rotate / Universal... etc.) ~ Usually you'll see a white / light grey areas on the geoshell that has no texture maps....

However, if there's no geo-grafts on the figure, geoshell visibility won't be reset while using the above-mentioned tools... so firstly check if it is the case that you're experiencing. If it's not, better post some screenshots.

If it is, here's a simple trick: Select the problematic geoshell,  go to Surfaces pane, select the geo-graft surface that has the visibility issue, locate Cutout Opacity (or Opacity Strength if using Daz RSL Shader), set it to 0, then Lock it by clicking the lock icon on the slider.

In this way, visibility won't be reset by those tools when you manipulate geometry / weight, etc.

Aha! Yep, it's the various geometry editors! Ty Crosswind! Your solution works great! Much appreciated.
