Property not found

I reinstalled my library (from scratch) and I now have 441 "Formula target property not found" warnings in my log files every time I load something. (I totally forgot all my "fixes" would get losts by reloaded. Sigh.)

Starting at number 1:

2026-07-07 10:10:41.383 [WARNING] :: \src\sdksource\fileinput\dzassetdaz.cpp(646): Formula target property not found:

File: /data/Daz 3D/Genesis 9/Genesis 9 Mouth/Morphs/Maelwenn/MW Manon/MWManon_head_bs_Silly.dsf

URI: Genesis9/head:/data/DAZ%203D/Genesis%209/Base/Morphs/Daz%203D/FACSExpressions/alias_head_facs_ctrl_Silly.dsf#facs_ctrl_Silly?value

So there is no "alias_head_facs_ctrl_Silly.dsf" file in the FACSExpressions directory. That directory only has one file "facs_ctrl_Silly.dsf". Is this simply a fix of removing "alias_head_" or is something else going on here.

Product: https://www.daz3d.com/mw-manon-for-genesis-9 I know maelwenn is still active as they worked on Sidney 9 assets.

    You should be able to find all aliases files including "alias_head_facs_ctrl_Silly.dsf" in FACSExpressions folder... unless you've removed them no matter from the package before installation or from the data folder after installation ~~

    You can check Genesis 9 Starter Essentials (1 of 3) package in DIM > Installed tab, then right-click on the package > Show Installed Files... (alias files would be greyed out with no hyper link if they were removed...)

    Technically, without using alias modifiers, simply removing "alias_head_"  won't work because the Controller url is called on Genesis9/head (where all aliases locate...), so the correction has to be:

    Genesis9:/data/DAZ%203D/Genesis%209/Base/Morphs/Daz%203D/FACSExpressions/facs_ctrl_Silly.dsf#facs_ctrl_Silly?value

    There is only one file in that directory. facs_ctrl_Silly.dsf. (And all the directory configs are set correctly.)

    G9 starter essentials (1 of 3) has not a single FACSExpressions file in it, dim or not dim.

    I reinstalled the starter essentials for G9 and that eliminated a couple hundred of those errors. But there are still 111 of these errors, including the one with MW Manon:

    When I look into facsexpression/alias_head_facs_ctrl_silly.dsf I notice this:

    From MWManon9: { "op" : "push", "url" : "Genesis9/head:/data/DAZ%203D/Genesis%209/Base/Morphs/Daz%203D/FACSExpressions/alias_head_facs_ctrl_Silly.dsf#facs_ctrl_Silly?value" },

    1st, my bad ~ I wrongly remembered the package that include FACS Expressions... The package is this one:  Genesis 9 Expressions

    2nd, as long as the Alias file exists, this character's Silly blended shape dial will work properly.  A modifier funcitons simultaneously with its alias, i.e. if you dial Silly property on G9, its alias Silly property on G9's Head node will be auto-dialed at the same time, and vice versa. As a Controller of Manon's Silly property, either Silly on G9 or Silly alias on G9's Head can trigger Manon's Silly property dialed.

    Be noted, this Silly property is on G9's Mouth and marked as a hidden property.

    Wow ~~ congrats !

    Most of the messages are warnings I believe, you also can leave them alone. They almost don't delay loading time... as per my exp.

    DAZ have a really bad habit, about 6 months or so after launching a new base figure someone decides to alter/rename/replace asset files.

    To give you some idea what I mean let's take G8, the "Iris Size" morph at launch was a single DSF file, now it's three files, a negative morph, a positive morph and a controller, none of which has the original asset ID, this means that everything made before this change badly needs updated, and to date very few have been.

    They did it to Genesis a couple of times that I'm aware of, so there's every chance they did it to G9 as well.

    Bit that's got my brain hurting is why would someone link a corrective to an aiias file.

    I know some people are used to dial expressions with figure's head selected... So, perhaps when the PA set the controller on the bs in Property Hierarchy,  they dragged Silly expression with G9's Head selected... while that Silly is the Alias ~

    I have fixed another dozen that were typos: FACS/facs_ctrl_EyeSquint.dsf#facs_ctrl_EyesSquint?value. This is close to a real parameter except there's an extra s. It's EyeSquint, not EyesSquint. Spotting this is hard. But it can be fixed. I mean. My log says I have over 1.3 million formulas. Have 105 (at this point) that are incorrect is pretty good I suppose.

    Yea, 0.8 ‱ is absolutely good ~

    Holy crap, no wonder people still complain about load times, as formulas are the main cause, number of files is second, with poorly designed content and errors making things a lot worse.

    This was from loading a scene with 5 G9 figures:

    2026-07-08 20:18:32.715 [INFO] :: Resolving 7967071 formulas...

    2026-07-08 20:18:53.384 [INFO] :: Finished resolving formulas.

    There were 630 missing properties

    That's only 30 seconds. Still...
