It's Always Summer: Pamela Hat, I cannot fit it to the head/hair

When scaling the hat it completly deforms as if in a car press, I cannot reposition it, even when unparenting from G8F. How is one supposed to adjust this prop?

Unparenting isn't enough: you need to unfit it as well. Delete the hat and load it into the scene WITHOUT the character selected. If the autofit dialogue pops up, hit cancel. The hat is now effectively just a prop instead of an article of clothing. Alternately, see if the hat has morphs that allow for better fitting.

If the autofit dialogue doessn't pop up and it still autofits, select the hat then go to Edit/Figure/Rigging/Convert figure to prop.
