Same Content Install issue in Daz 6 Premier
Can someone over at the tech side explain why the following issues remains in Daz Studio?
For the life of Daz, this install issue continues to Vex me. We install from DAZ Install Manager, then when we look into the Contents tab, It shows the need to install down arrow, or worse updat=s file but will not clear the update when you install.
I hoped DAZ 6 would fix this, I hoped Premier would sove this, but yet and again there the same issues are.
Is it a mapping issue? Is it hiarchy issue?
I don't know but I personnaly would be grateful if this was addressed by the developers.

The "install" icons you are seeing are related to Daz Connect (installing within Daz Studio itself). If you look at the DIM-installed products in the CMS database they are set to installed=false. As to why that is the case is probably to do with the fact that the two install methods are so different in every way and it might confuse things if Daz showed the icon to "uninstall" a DIM-installed product and was then not able to. Ideally this should probably be "fixed" in some way since it is confusing and you ideally do not want to be able to install products via Daz Connect if they are installed via DIM since this leads to ducplicate installs which means twice as much disk space taken up and sometimes ends up with a broken product. Flipping the installed value of the product from a boolean to enum would probably break stuff but it should have been possible to add another column to specify if something is DIM installed and so Daz Connect should not show either the install or uninstall options.
That is not an issue but just a "status of a Product" which is updated by Daz Connect if you log in to Connect with the option of "Update Metadata" checked in Account Login dialogue.
The icon means the product "has_cloud_meta_data" (screenshot 1)
You can simply ignore it if you've already installed the product via DIM. Then be noted, better always stick to installing products via DIM ~~
If you want to remove the icons, log out from Connect, uninstall the Products via DIM, delete the Products in Content Library > Product. Reinstall the Products via DIM. And never Log In to Connect with the option of "Update Metadata".
Or, modify the "has_cloud_meta_data" from true to false in product table by using a postgreSQL DBA tool, like Navicat ~~
You can also hide that particular product within DIM if you are installing it with Daz Connect. If it isn't installed with DIM but sitting in "Ready to Download," click on the 3 vertical dots or right-click on it and select Hide that particular product.
