Daz 6 installation

Does this automatically install in a new directory and preserve Daz 4.3? Or do I have to do something? I want to keep both.

Yes, it installs in its own directory and has its own settings. You don't have anything special to do to keep both.

I'm trying to install it too but I can't seem to find the installers. So, is the only way to install it through Daz Install Manager?

Currently you can only install it via DIM.

Thank you very much for the quick answer, Leana. I'm a little confused. Do you know which is the last 4.24 version? I have 4.24.0.3. If so, is it only available through DIM too?

Daz Studio 4 should still be downloadable through your product library on Daz3D.com

Fair warning: make a backup of the installer of DS 4.24.0.3 if you're using 3Delight, because Daz Studio 4.24.0.4 is not able anymore to use 3Delight.

I think Doctor Jellybean shared a way to create a version of DS 4.24.0.4 capable of doing 3Delight render, by adding some files from DS 4.24.0.3 but I don't remember where was the explaination.

The last version of DS4 is 4.24.0.4 which removed 3DL rendering engine. It is available via DIM or manual installation.

I've just installed DAZ Studio 6 and as expected it installs alongside my existing DAZ Studio 4.24 installation rather than replacing it.

Before I spend time setting everything up again, I'd like to know if anyone has successfully migrated their custom settings from 4.24 to DS6, and what the recommended approach is.

    I'm mainly interested in preserving:

Custom workspace/layout (pane and tab arrangement)
    Customized toolbars
    Custom actions and buttons
    Keyboard shortcuts
    General UI preferences and customization

Is there an official or recommended way to transfer these settings to DS6? Is exporting/importing a workspace enough, or do I need to manually copy specific configuration files?

If you've already gone through this process, I'd really appreciate any advice, best practices, or step-by-step instructions.

    Thanks in advance!
    Martha
