Liking the new Site look

I gotta say, I'm liking the new look on the website.  Just opened my product library and I can see the products!  I can visually search my library to find products instead of combing an endless list!  Kudos site team - keep up the good work!

Thanks, Daz, for not waiting until Friday, as is your custom, to change your site. 's a pity about the Gallery.

Looks interesting. I hope it's as easy to find stuff. Only time will tell, but it looks as if it should be either an improvement, or at least no worse....

    Richard

Changing the look of their web site is great, but kinda way back on my list of priorities.

That's been a feature with DAZDEALS for a while, but my product library does seem to load a tiny bit faster on MS now and at least manages to load now on Firefox... Granted, my product library is a lot bigger than most at over 54,600 products, so if it can manage that then most folks shouldn't have an issue. Nice to see most of the older generations of DAZ figure added back into the search dropdown box, though it's odd that Michael1/2 jave a checkbox but not Victoria 1/2.  Unfortunately, the artist search function remains severly crippled by the fact that it only recognizes the names of artists who are still actively selling at DAZ, so recent mainstays like Oso and oldtime stalwarts like Ironman13 aren't searchable.

Having filters in the product library is indeed nice.

There are many things that aren't exactly an improvement though IMO frown

No "Daz+ only" filters on the main store page anymore (it's still there in the search  results)

I hoped they at least fixed the category filters not appearing on featured artist store pages, but it still disappears.

Not a fan of the huge product thumbnails for the new releases on the sale page. Sure, you see the products better, but you have to scroll and scroll if you want to see all the releases.

The "file format" filter is confusing. You'd expect that "DUF" will give you all things related to DS (though it's not exactly the best choice of tag for poser-format content), but for example many plugins don't appear when you select it, you have to remove the filter to see them.

There's no "compatible software" tag anymore, so there's no way to see which content is for Poser, Bryce or Carrara, or which plugins are compatible with DS6 and which are not (yes, I know most are not for now). Some people were already confused when it was litteraly written on the product page, but now there's no information at all!

And of course now the additional filters from the bookmarklet don't work anymore...

Edited to add: actually there's a new versions of the advanced files which do work smiley

But it would be nice if, for every product, a download button where available, so i have not to go into every productpage to download it and go back and so on.
I am bought many things and i am not using DIM because my internet machine does not make 3d (Linux). And using 'wine' is possible but painfull.

I find the new PL very impractical and not very user-friendly. I miss the overview of my purchases, the file sizes, the download options. No information, only colourful pictures. Thank you, but I'm not three years old. I can already read and write.

Is there any way to switch to a more informative list view, similar to the ‘old’ one? I haven’t seen one.

The thumbnails simply replaced the list of product names, you get the same product library page as earlier when you click on a product thumbnail.

Did you have an add-on which gave you more information on the list itself?

New store pages look nice but are way less user friendly than before. We've lost some filter options too. Makes the whole experience painful. I'm done unless I desperately need something, I shall start shopping elsewhere.

I look for Poser stuff - yeah I'm stubborn with that format - but with the new look in the shop, it's now impossible to look that way. I won't lose time to check many pages by many pages. If I can't find quickly on the shop, I'll just log out quickly each time I come, like already the white pages are a no way for my eyes. Franckly, the new look is for me like I saw other sites doing, and it's BORING like look and to see that Daz isn't even able to keep a site different from what is now "a norm". It's like a dilution of their own brand in the internet things.

    1) The changes to the Product Library are terrible.  Now it's extra clicks for me to download each product because I can't simply select a product on the left and have it show on the right with the download links. I have to go into each individual product page to download then click back to the Product Library to get to the next product.

    2) In the Shop section, the "Top of the page" arrow is overlaid on top of the "Go to Page [ ]" section so it doesn't work.

Not having the Only Show Plus checkbox is really annoying for me. I used to use it to check if they had added new plus items not on a tuesday.

what is very cool is being able to sort your purchases by artist on the library page.   So now I can see all the products by Ziddicus, for example ... or by the other filters/categories. Makes life simpler there for sure.
Losing the ability to see only DAZ+ on the store front is a glaring omission. Hopefully that will return.

Its like most changes, some good some bad.

the new game ready items need their own store. or a filter to get rid of them.

The version of filters panel in the store is missing software filter. It was great was to filter out outdated products or old assets made for Carrara etc. Can you bring it back?

That's true. I don't like the rest, but this is a very nice new feature.

Thank you, Leana, I found the list. However, this list has no illustrations. For me, this is a step backwards to the old layout, with which you had both. Now the 'thumbnails' are way too big. And no, I don't/didn't have an add-on.

I could do that on the PA's store page before (as long as it was open still), but that is a nice feature for the ones who are gone and were say, texture artists for some fantastic items that are also no longer in the store but in my Runtime. When I have to set up a new computer or rebuild after a crash it will be a help.

    very laggy

  • What I'm personally looking for are additional filter parameters.

For example, if I'm looking through the "bulk up" sale, I want to be able to see what is on offer in terms product category (environments, characters, clothing, etc).

Or, it would be nice to do the reverse. If there is a "bulk up" sale, is it possible to look into a product category (environments, characters, clothing, etc) and just limit it to whatever sale is on offer (ie, "bulk up" sale).

I'm guessing the way that sales are constructed that kind of cross filter will be very difficult to implement, but it would be nice to have.

I just bought some items and when I looked in my library some of them were at the top of the list but 2 of them weren't there. I found them by looking at the order and clicking on the products, one of them was on page 2 and one on page 64. It looks as if it is sorting them by Daz release date rather than purchase date and i can't find any way to change that..I liked being able to see what I've bought recently so I don't like this change at all.

DIM numbers my downloadables at 14,614.  My library page now counts 11,868 products.  I know multi-part downloads are counted differently, but the gap still seems greater than expected.  What else is my library not counting?  Discontinued?  Inactive?  Retired?  Updated?

Switching to the list view presented me with a header bar where I could choose the purchase date column for sorting, either up or down.  Switching back to grid view preserved the sort order, at least on the first page. [/edit]

Products (mostly older ones) can have a PS, a DS, a Legacy, a PoserCF package, a package with OBJ, or one package per figures supported.

I hate that the defualt search is by the game ready format that most of us will never use. Can you please bring back a purchase by date in the sorting options? I opened up my product library and the freebies I just picked up are no where to be found. I get that people are liking the new look, but being able to open your product library and having the ability to search by date of purchase makes things easier to find in a hurry.

Yeah, I'm going to need that sorting option back.

I really don't like the massive icons in the product library, and that the "format filter" is open by default. But if you click on the "list" option the product library is ordered correctly again by purchase date, but the thumbnails go away, if that matters.

If you switch back to Grid after sorting the list it seems to keep the sort order.
