converting iray decals for use in filatoon renders

I've noticed thay iray decal products don't show up at all in Filatoon renders. So I have been using L.I.E. to add those image files directly to objects. And it works well, but its a little tedious and slow to get the images in the proper place and scaled properly. So I'm just wondering is there is a better way I don't know about? Is there a better/quicker way to convert iray decals to be used in Filatoon renders other than using Layered Image Editor? I tried using a geoshell once, but that was more confusing to me, I never got it to look right. Just asking in case I am missing the something obvious.

The only other option that springs to mind is a Geometry Shell, which at least lets you work diirectly on the Surface settings rather than having to open a dialogue box.
Yeah, I think I need to play with geoshells more. They seem to have a lot more potential. I have some geoshell body hair products that work well in both iray and filatoon. I just need to figure out how to make my own look as good.
