Purchased Daily Dealz no longer being recognized as Daily Dealz

LugoLugo Posts: 18

I'm confused by how the Daily Dealz qualification is being handled because the promotion states "Buy or Own X Daily Dealz" to unlock additional discounts, but nowhere in the promotional text can I find any indication that earlier Daily Dealz items stop counting toward that total.

I own the following items bought during June:

> Z Sad and Miserable Expressions for Genesis 9

> Z Instant Attraction Chair Prop and Poses for Genesis 9 and 8 Female

> Cave Troll HD for Genesis 9

But only the Cave Troll is being recognized as a qualifying Daily Dealz item, while the others are not counting toward the requirement.

Based on the wording, I would reasonably expect that any items purchased as Daily Dealz would continue to count toward the “Buy or Own X Daily Dealz” threshold unless explicitly stated otherwise. If there is a limitation where only certain time windows or batches of Daily Dealz qualify, that condition does not appear to be documented in the promotion text.

At the moment, the behavior of the cart does not match the published terms, or at least the terms are not sufficiently clear about how eligibility is determined.

Could someone from DAZ clarify exactly which Daily Dealz qualify for the promotion and where this restriction is documented?

Example: with V3D Talesa in my cart, the discount currently shown is:

$24.99 → $6.00 (76% off)

However, based on the number of Daily Dealz items I own, I would expect the price to be:

$24.99 → $4.50 (82% off)

Only items listed in the Daily Dealz section count as Daily Dealz:

Once an item is now longer named here, it's treated as any new release.

That's how the cart is currently treating those items, but that's not what the promotion says.

The sale page states "Buy or Own X Daily Dealz". It doesn't say "currently listed Daily Dealz", nor does it mention that a product stops counting once it rotates out of the Daily Dealz section.

When a promotion involves spending money to reach discount tiers, the qualifying conditions need to be clearly stated because If an item purchased as a Daily Dealz ceases to qualify later, that's a significant limitation and customers shouldn't have to discover it through trial and error or forum replies.

My concern isn't whether the system is behaving as you describe, it is that the published terms don't appear to explain that behavior anywhere, and based on the wording I think it's entirely reasonable for customers to expect previously purchased Daily Dealz items to continue counting toward the "Buy or Own X Daily Dealz" requirement.

If DAZ intends the promotion to work differently, clarifying that in the offer text would avoid confusion and set proper expectations before people make purchasing decisions.

The text could indeed be clarified, but that's how the offer works, and how similar offers have worked in past big sales.

The offer can be considered as a new one with a different selection of "Daily Dealz" each day (hence the expiration counter at the top of the section), an item counts as "Daily Dealz" for only as long as it's featured in that section.

As the others have said, the offer requires that you own or have bought Daily Deals - and those are listed on the promo page. Nothing indicates that an ex-Daily Deal will count.

That's exactly the issue, though. I do own and have bought Daily Deals. My question is where the offer explains that those purchases cease to qualify at a later date.

The responses so far have explained how the promotion worked in other years and how the cart is currently behaving, but none of those things answer where this limitation is actually stated in the promotion or whether a Daily Dealz item will turn into a former Daily Dealz item. The promotion only says you have to "Buy or Own" Daily Dealz and it doesn't say that an item purchased as a Daily Dealz loses that status at some point, so I don't think it's reasonable to expect customers to assume unstated conditions because as customers we can only rely on the terms that are actually published by the seller. The idea that Daily Dealz status is temporary and can expire at any time may be how the system works internally, but that isn't explained anywhere in the offer itsefl, and we're already on the 8th day of these Daily Dealz sale.

If my access to the higher discount depends on the qualification a product has, shouldnt I be told such qualification is temporal? Everyone is describing how the system works but I'm asking where that rule is disclosed. I'm not arguing about whether the cart is working correctly or not, which are different things.

It seems somewhat self evident that previous Daily Dealz would not count as a Daily Delz item when they are no longer in the Daily Dealz catagory.

You are. The product qualifying as "daily dealz" every day are listed on the sale page, with a timer which says how long the offer on that selection is valid. There's even a "final day" tag on products which will be leaving the selection.

Granted, it would be even clearer if they added a disclaimer like "A product doesn't count as Daily Dealz purchase once it's not in that section anymore" or something like that.

I understand that the cart is only counting products that are currently listed in the Daily Dealz section.

My question is where that limitation is actually disclosed because when looking at the promo page, the promotional text simply says "Buy or Own 1/2/3 Daily Dealz." It doesn't say "currently featured Daily Dealz" or "today's Daily Dealz." The countdown timer tells me the featured products rotate and that their price will increase days later, it doesn't tell me that a product purchased as a Daily Dealz item will stop counting towards Owning Daily Dealz once it leaves the section.

In fact, the phrase "Buy or Own" suggests the opposite. If I bought an item as a Daily Dealz item, I still own that Daily Dealz purchase tomorrow. Nothing in the offer text explains that its qualifying status is temporary. I'm asking where the rule is stated. Several people have explained how the promotion is intended to work, but explaining the intended behavior is not the same as pointing to where that condition is disclosed in the offer itself.

If the intention is that only products currently featured in the Daily Dealz section count, I think that limitation should have been explicitly stated in the promotion from Day 1 rather than left to customers to figure out on their own once previously purchased Daily Dealz items no longer qualify.

I have to agree with Lugo.I bought several Daily Dealz near the beginning of the sale before there were any "Final Day" banners or any indication of disappearing... not that I would've assumed that disappearing from the list invalidated them as being counted as Daily Dealz that were bought in the past. I bought them with the expectation that buying 3 would entitle me to the listed discount going forward. Without any mention of "currently listed" or similar wording, it didn't even occur to me that the discount would disappear over time. And it's wrong that customers have to learn how sales work days after already purchasing stuff based on the terms of the sale AS ADVERTISED.

I also have to agree with Lugo. I have been around during several similar sales that i'm now used to it. But when i first saw one of those i thought the same, owning one does not mean owning one of the past X days. And since daz refuses to give away the complete sale mechanics in advance it wasn't until friday that we saw had some clarity this time.

A small change in wording or extra disclaimer cost nothing and avoids confusions.
