Introducing WallWizard Advanced Geometry Cutout Tool for Daz Studio
=========================
Wall Wizard generates clean, production-ready wall meshes with cutouts for
doors and windows. Exported meshes have four independent surface zones for
easy texturing in Daz Studio or any 3D application.
GETTING STARTED
---------------
Launch WallWizard.exe. You'll see the parameter panel on the left and a 3D
preview on the right. Adjust any slider and the preview updates instantly.
WALL PARAMETERS
---------------
Width Wall width in cm (50-1000, default 300)
Height Wall height in cm (50-500, default 250)
Thickness Wall depth in cm (5-100, default 20)
CUTOUTS
-------
Click "+ Add" to add a cutout. Each cutout has:
Shape Rectangle, Arch, Round, Gothic, Custom, or Import Model...
Width Cutout width in cm
Height Cutout height in cm
Pos X Horizontal offset from wall center (negative = left)
Pos Y Vertical center from wall bottom
Shape-specific sliders appear automatically:
Arch "Arch" slider (0 = flat top, 1 = full semicircle)
Gothic "Point" slider (0 = gentle curve, 1 = sharp lancet)
Rectangle "Radius" slider (0 = sharp corners, up to 50 = rounded)
Round Uses both Width and Height independently (ellipse when different)
Enable/disable a cutout with its checkbox. Remove it with the X button.
IMPORTING MODELS
----------------
Select "Import Model..." from a cutout's Shape dropdown to import an
existing door or window model and auto-size the cutout to match.
Supported formats:
.duf / .dsf Daz Studio scenes and geometry files
.obj Wavefront OBJ (auto-detects meters vs cm)
.fbx Autodesk FBX (detects Wall Wizard exports via Jamb mesh)
The importer extracts the model's outline using convex hull analysis,
auto-detects the correct projection plane, and creates a Custom shape
that matches the imported geometry. Width, height, and position are
set automatically.
DUF Import: Wall Wizard reads your Daz Install Manager library paths
from Account.ini, so it can resolve geometry references across all your
content libraries automatically.
FBX Import: If the FBX was exported from Wall Wizard, the importer
detects the Jamb mesh and extracts the cutout shape from it (not the
full wall outline).
Best results: For the most accurate shape detection, import ONLY the
window or door — not the entire scene with walls and other objects.
The importer uses the convex hull of all vertices, so extra geometry
(walls, floors, furniture) will distort the detected outline.
DUF: Select the window/door in the Scene pane, then
File > Save As > Scene Subset (.duf). Import that into Wall Wizard.
OBJ: Select only the window/door, then File > Export > OBJ.
Enable subdivision for the smoothest, most accurate outline.
FBX: Select only the window/door, then File > Export > FBX.
IMPORTANT: Check "Include Props" in the FBX export dialog,
otherwise the geometry will not be embedded in the file.
OBJ exports with subdivision applied give the smoothest, most accurate
outlines. FBX and DUF base meshes have fewer vertices and may produce
slightly more angular shapes.
EXPORT
------
File menu > Export Mesh, or use the Export section in the left panel.
Formats:
OBJ (.obj) Wavefront OBJ + MTL file. Universal compatibility.
FBX (.fbx) Autodesk FBX via AssimpNet. Native Daz Studio import.
Both formats export four surface/material zones:
WallFront The visible front face (brick, stone, plaster)
WallBack The back face (drywall, paint)
Jamb Inside the cutout openings (wood trim, painted reveal)
WallEdges Top, bottom, and side edges of the wall
In Daz Studio, each zone appears as a separate surface that can be
independently shaded.
FILE MENU
---------
New Reset to default wall with one cutout (Ctrl+N)
Open Open a .wallwiz configuration file (Ctrl+O)
Save Save current configuration (Ctrl+S)
Save As Save to a new file (Ctrl+Shift+S)
Export Mesh Export wall as OBJ or FBX
Configuration files (.wallwiz) are JSON and store all wall parameters,
cutout settings, and custom outline points.
3D PREVIEW
----------
The right panel shows a live 3D preview of the wall mesh. The preview
updates automatically whenever any parameter changes. Material zones
are shown in distinct colors for easy identification.
TIPS
----
- Start with a preset, then fine-tune with sliders.
- Import a DUF of your door/window first, then adjust the cutout shape
to get a perfect fit with zero resizing in Daz Studio.
- Use the Radius slider on rectangles for modern rounded window frames.
- Gothic Point at 0 gives a soft arch; at 1 gives a tall lancet point.
- Round shape with different Width and Height creates elliptical windows.
- Custom shapes from imported models preserve the original geometry
outline, including curves and angles.
REQUIREMENTS
------------
- Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
- Single-file portable executable through Daz Install Manager
- .NET 9 runtime is bundled (self-contained)

A video I made today explaining how Wall Wizard works.
I know the video is long but you can get the gist of the whole program and how it works in one place without having to read the manual.
I believe WallWizard is easy to use so you will never hesitate from using it in your scene making process.
See product page for more promo images and info...

Interesting, but out of my price range. Congrats on the release.
Eventually it will go on a big sale Artini.
And today you can get an extra 50% off if you have it in your wishlist
I am glad Daz has offered this sale for those who really want the program and price is an obstacle. Let me know how your walls look Charlie!
I assume there are now enough people out there using WallWizard to give me feedback on how it works so I can plan an update for the program.
I know for sure the first update will have a "select all" option in the import dialog for objects with a lot of geometry mesh parts. Let me know what else it needs. Thank you for choosing WallWizard!
Thanks for the sale. I got it. Need to find a time to explore this utility.
I am really glad the sale helped you out Artini! Please let me know how it works for you!
I am here to develop the program even further as users offer their input.
(check out the video it is long but fairly complete)
UPDATE: I have revisited the Wall Wizard program code, it now calculates feet and inches alongside metric; the maximum wall height/width/depth is now around 328 feet (10,000cm) for large buildings. If you need something larger, duplicate the wall. It also can decimate the vertices in the wall with its basic shapes, so it has much less geometry where it counts. It displays feet and inches in every slider and it now also has text boxes so you can directly add the parameters you want in any slider, so you do not have to fuss with getting the slider precise. Now you can have 328 feet depth for tunnels (10,000cm), and you can add geometry with a slider to add length segments so the tunnels can be shaped. As soon as the Daz techs run the update through some tests, the update will be released to all who have purchased Wall Wizard.
Enjoy!

This looks cool, but does it only apply to creating new walls, not modifying existing ones?
It only works with a wall that it creates, and currently it is pretty much USELESS as the UV's that are generated for the WallFront and WallBack Surfaces come in looking like this:
Which so basically, you cannot use ANY texures on that wall. I had to reExport the wall into MAX to fix the UV's and once I was done and happy with the results.... I requested a REFUND for this product as it's clearly broke. You are better off using Boolean operations in another program and just making your walls and windows there.
By the way, Importing JUST the wall with no Door or Windows cutouts results in the same Horrible UVs, so this was not Operator Error.
Good question! Right now Wall Wizard works with the walls it creates — it builds the geometry itself, which is exactly what lets it hand you the cutouts, jambs, and edges as fully editable pieces.
Editing an existing wall isn't supported yet, but Wall Wizard is in constant development, and being able to bring in your own walls is just the kind of feature I'd love to add if there's enough interest. If that's something you'd use, let me know — it genuinely helps me decide what to build next. Thanks for checking it out!
Thank you for taking the time to lay this out so thoroughly — and you're completely right. The WallFront and WallBack UVs were being written to the DUF in a format that Daz Studio misreads, which scrambles the coordinates exactly the way your screenshot shows.
In all honesty, it slipped past my own testing: I'd been checking the walls with plain shaders, and a solid shader color doesn't use the UVs at all — so it looked fine on my end. It's only when you apply an actual image texture, which reads the UVs, that the scramble shows up — which is exactly what you hit. That's a real bug on my end, not operator error, and as you correctly noted it happens even on a plain wall with no cutouts. I'm genuinely sorry you lost time re-exporting into MAX to work around it.
The good news: your report pinpointed the cause, and it's fixed. The UVs now export as a clean, standard planar unwrap, so image textures apply correctly. A corrected, signed update is built and on its way to the store.
Your refund is completely fair and there are no hard feelings whatsoever. If you'd ever like to try the fixed version once the update is live, I'd be happy to help you get it sorted — no pressure at all. Thanks again for the honest, detailed feedback; it's exactly what made the fix possible.
One more thing, since you mentioned plain walls: there's now a "None" option in the shapes dropdown, so you can export a wall with no cutouts at all — and with the UV fix, those texture cleanly now too.
Update coming soon peeps! Walls also arrive Iray ready.
...
My main goal is to modify the existing walls. Many buildings here need renovation; doors don't open, there are no windows, doors and windows are in the wrong place, or their sizes don't meet my needs. Also, many walls have unique shapes, not just simple squares. I look forward to your continued updates.
I can do this, I will try and add your requests to the current update planned. (the update where the UV issue is already fixed) This product is capable of growing far beyond its initial offering. Purchases of Wall Wizard help support the time needed to evolve and expand the product.
AsuCafe — this is exactly the direction I'm building Wall Wizard toward, and your feedback is steering it. It can now cut door and window openings straight into your existing walls, in place, with the wall's own textures and materials left fully intact — and it works on any flat wall, not just simple square panels, so the odd-shaped ones are covered too.
What's next comes straight off your list: placing and sizing an opening exactly where you need it, matching the shape of a real door or window, and openings with real depth so a door can actually hang and swing. Renovating rooms that were never built to change is the whole point, and you've helped define what that should feel like.
More on the way — thanks for helping shape where this goes.
Cool! Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and efficiency. My doubts about purchasing this product have been dispelled, and now I need to find the right time to buy it.
I look forward to the evolution of this product, and to more excellent products.
I look forward to seeing what you can do with WallWizard at your command!
Please share your work here AsuCafe.
This is another Wall Wizard update window replacement in place preserving the wall texture (using an atomosphere cube primitive from VDBWizard).
Wallwizard cut out the old window and created a larger hole in the wall, added a jamb and a back wall and transferred the current wall texutre to the jamb and backwall with only a few clicks.
That is all looking really good and glad that you were able to fix it so quickly! Nice Bug squashin' for sure. With the abilitity to cut into OTHER walls I will definitley pick it back up in the future.
I also have a suggestion for an Add-On.... "The Roof Wizard Add-On"... (because it sounds better then the Ceiling or Floor Wizard I think) Any way, How about taking all the cutting tools for the horizontal and make them vertical too!
It would be great to be able to cut that cylider into the ceiling to add a spiral stair case, or Stove Pipe (or any pipe for that matter) into that cabins roof, the cabin could also use a chimey cut into its 2nd floor and then through it's roof too. Not to mention that it also needs it's 1st floor ceiling Cut for the regular stair case (standard cube or rectangle cut) to access the 2nd floor of the cabin. But most importantly of course, would be cutting into the floor to add access to to the super secret elevator hidden under that big rug, that leads to my underground test lab.(What? Only me?....Weird). Well I hope that gives a brief idea of the benefits of making the Roof Wizard, (think sky lights too...). and I would definitely buy that as and Add-On. (or StandAlone, whatever)
Hello MrPenguin,
I wanted to follow up on my earlier note, because your feedback stayed with me and the program has grown a great deal since then.
Wall Wizard's next update is a large one, and it changes what the product fundamentally is. It no longer only generates its own walls — it now cuts openings directly into walls that are already in your Daz Studio scene, from any product, with no export or import step. You select the wall, Ctrl-click the doors or windows you want as openings right where you've placed them, and the cut is baked onto that same wall in place, with its original textures fully preserved.
And it isn't limited to walls anymore. The same tools now cut through floors, ceilings, and roofs — including curved and assembled roofs — so skylights, stairway openings, chimney passes, and round windows through a curved roof are all a couple of clicks. It can even cut the silhouette of a posed figure through a wall, gaps and all.
Every cut is repeatable: the program keeps the original geometry, so you can reopen a cut wall later, move an opening, and re-cut with no scars. The manual has been rewritten and illustrated to cover all of it.
The update is nearly finished on my bench and is going through final testing and store submission now, so it will reach the Daz store (DIM) as soon as their process allows. When it lands, I'd be honored if you gave Wall Wizard another look — your report is part of why it became what it is, and I think you'll find it a very different tool from the one that disappointed you.
Either way, thank you again for the honest feedback. It mattered.
