Tips and suggestions

Hi, I’d like to suggest an improvement that could make DAZ Studio much stronger when working with other software.

One of the best things in DAZ is how morphs, joints and ERC work together (JCMs, morph-driven scaling, etc). The deformations are really advanced and look great.

The problem is that when exporting (FBX or Bridges), all that logic is lost. We only get the mesh, rig and morphs, but not the relationships between them.

It would be amazing if in the future DAZ could export that logic in some way, for example:

  • JCMs (joint → morph behavior)

  • ERC links (morph → morph or morph → bone)

  • Basic dependency relationships

Maybe not directly in FBX, but as an extra data file (like JSON) that other programs (Blender, Maya, Unity) could use to rebuild the behavior.

Even a simplified version or partial support would already be a huge improvement.

I know this is not easy, but this is one of DAZ’s biggest strengths, and being able to transfer it would make DAZ much more powerful in real production pipelines.

Thanks for considering it!

some bridges support this.  I believe Diffeomorphic and DaztoHUE.  I thought i saw an approach for Unity also.
