Can't Select Mesh With Geometry Editor Tool [SOLVED]

See attached screenshot.  The "building" node is selected with the node selection tool, which is the mesh you see visible in the viewport.  But when I switch to the geometry editor tool and click the same mesh nothing happens.  Any idea why?

Can you seelct by clicking a group name in the Tool Settings pane? Or right-click>Geometry Selection>Select All?

I actually just solved it by zooming up right next to it.  Doesn't make any sense; there was absolutely I could see in front of it.  But whatever.
