Locking rotation limiters on figure bones?
Hi I use different posing products and I can never tell which ones unlock bones to pose them. My issue is that I adjust poses myself, and I like putting the limiters on, but I'm always needing to manually fix it or select all the bones to do it and it takes a little extra time every time. I'd like to check something that prevents it from happening so I can just flick through poses without thinking about it after. Is there a way? Thanks
Also if there is a way to remove view translation entirely that'd be great. I get tired of clicking nodes on a figure and having Daz3d randomly decide to fling them across the viewport

Unfortuneately, there's nothing in studio that will allow you to know if a pose will or won't require it to exceed limits before clicking on it.
By default, studio produces a dialog that let's you know if a pose preset requires this when clicked. If you're not getting that dialog, Edit>Preferences>Content>Pose/shaping Preset loading, Make sure "Show the preset exceeds limits Dialog"
This dialog will allow you to select to use, or not, limits.
Just make sure not ot check the "Don't show this dialog" box, otherwise you'll need to reenable it in the Preferences.
If you don't ever want it to exceed limits, you can enable "Always leave limits on", but that may make many poses look really weird compared to the thumbnail, or not function properly.
As for the translation, if you lock translation(lock icon on channel), you can keep the figure from moving.
You may need to lock either the base node, the hip node, or both.
I usually use "Zero pose utilites" from devon to recenter the figure. Unfortunately, there's three different products to get. Not sure about free alternatives.
Genesis 2&3
Genesis 8/8.1
Genesis 9
I'd recommend making your own presets, after you've made this modification for future use.
File>Save As>Pose Preset.
3D Universe Daz Studio 4 Scene Tools Set 2 can help you with locking and unlocking bone limits as well as other handy things like locking bone rotations. It can be installed as a toolbar for easy access to each of the included tools.
If you hold the Ctrl key when applying a pose, it will give you an option to disable translation pn each axis. That is built into Daz Studio and doesn't require the purchase an additional product, but it is cumbersome to use it if you are trying to rapidly try out a lot of poses.
Thank you!
You can simply hold Ctrl to load a Pose Preset, and select Disable in Limits. It will just unlock the bones that the Pose Preset requires them not limited~~. Then add shortcuts to Limits On and Limits Off... that can siginificantly speed up the manipulation when you turn bones rotation Limits On / Off ~~
