What is (!)?

Has this always been here or does a (!) in front of the Daz Studio name in the title bar mean something?

    That may be a Windows alert indicating a problem, I don't know - search and AI are not being entirely helpful. You might check the log file for unusual errors. I certainly don't have that here.

    Based on Daz Studio 4.24 release notes and user discussions, an exclamation mark (!) in front of the application name in the title bar usually serves as a restart required indication. 

    This appears when Daz Studio has been updated (for example, via Daz Install Manager or Connect) but has not yet been fully closed and relaunched to apply the new files.

    I haven't seen a DS update in DIM since the .4 update that removed 3DL in December. I don't use Connect. And I didn't notice this until I restarted Daz. Weird.

    I restarted Daz again and now it's gone. Weirder still. What could have updated?

    Each time your Premier membership is revalidated via Connect (periodically with Logged In...), that "!" will appear if the validation is successful. It requires a restart.

    You must've Logged In via Connect, otherwise your Premier cannot show on the title of DS ~~

    I never use Smart Content. What does "Logged in via connect" mean? And why would it only have done it "this time"?

    Well, pls check in F2 (Preferences), Starup tab, is Automatically Login with Remembered Credentials checked ? That means DS logins via Daz Connect each time you launch the application. Then your Premier Memebership will be validated.

    With the option checked, these actions are taken no matter you use Smart Content or not ~

    Of course, it's set. Otherwise I couldn't use the premiere features. But I've never seen the (!) before the original post above and I've had premiere since last June or July.

    Oh, maybe it came from a glitch, e.g. temporary disconnection of internet or sth., which made DS fail to get a successful validation of Premier ~~ 

    I never Automatically Login. I always manually validate my Premier tier, so I always see that "!" ~~wink

    Yeah, I've relaunched several times since then. No (!) in those launches.
