Toy Doll Box

I got the idea of this toy doll box, it was inspired by my daughter's Barbie, Sindy and Action Man dolls, as well as watching Toy Story. However, what coloured the actual doll was listening to Billy Idol's 'White Wedding' song and it's refrain ''White Wedding, Shotgun '. And the character of my favourite DS figure - she is quite capable of turning the tables on any bloke.

So, the box has an inside texture and outside texture. To help you change the texture I have included templates and a GIMP .xcf image source file. Furthermore, there are 3 material files for the transparent window. The original has the window complete, then there are two textures where a hole has been punched, and another where she's kicked a hole through the window. For simplicity of use, the box is sized to fit a standard G8/G9 character without scaling, but it may be scaled down to fit a 'Toy' sized character.

Please note, you provide your own doll for the Toy Box.

The toy box has some quite unconventional warnings. It warns of small parts, choking hazard, stroppy attitude, bad language, and a warning that dolls can use shotguns too. The introduction concludes 'You did this to yourself.'.

Hope you find it useful.

Regards,

Richard

Thank you!  I know just what to put inside.

In my scene, the box will be retextured with a design that's slapdash and unprofessional.  I hope that doesn't offend. blush

Not at all. Once downloaded it's yours to play with re-texture as you desire. Would be interested to see the results, though.

My pleasure. It was fun to do and amusing to come up with silly blurb. Regards, Richard

This box is great. Easy to retexture with the included GIMP files, too.

    Thanks a lot.

    Thank you.

I do get a missing files error dialog for these 2 files:

Oops. How embarrasing. blush I do apologise.

The amended zip file is in the first post now. Those two files are in the cat food bowl zip file (where they're meant to be too) so either download will now cure the error. I have included the files in other downloads, so if you've not seen the error, you probably already have the files - I use them as a 'Jack of all trades' not-quite-flat surface texture.

    Regards,

    Richard

No problem, it happens to the best of us smiley

Did you add the amended zip to the first post? It seems to have disappeared.

Yes, I can see it. Is it possible to do a refresh?

I still see the zip in the first post.

For the record, I've recently noticed that attachments sometimes don't appear when I open a link to a specific post of a thread (like, for example, after posting with a quote when I'm redirected to my post) but work fine when opening the whole thread.

Fascinating . I do like what you've done there, DoctorJellybean. All the magical arcana.. makes a deliciously slow burn horror image.

    Thank you for sharing.

I really like it, goes along with the 'You did this to yourself ' feel of the original writing. I do like your doll character, looks perfect. I don't think I recognise her. Want to say 'The Girl' (Generation 3) but not sure.

    Richard

The Girl 8. I got her for a few cents a while ago when discount codes and tokens went mad. First chance I've had to use her, cartoon isn't my thing.

I don't generally do 'toon' either. I do have the original Generation 3 'The Girl', but never used her - was once a freebie I think. Looks remarkably like The Girl 8. More so than some of the intervening generations. I'm smazed, it appears I have The Girl 4 and The Girl 6 too. Not sure how that happened.

    Regards,

    Richard

Phew. Just checked. All free at one time or another.
