PC with dual RTX4090 GPUs - any experience with?

Just daydreaming a bit during a boring meeting at work. A PC with one RTX4090 is about $6500 from Corsair, a vendor I like. With two GPUs it is about $2k more (not from Corsair), which is less of a difference than I would have expected. Although, that could have been clickbait. I was wondering if you can still run such a beast off a regular US plug. Anyone with experience with a machine with dual 4090 GPUs? Was it worth it? I understand that the speed roughly doubles but the useful G-RAM stays the same.
