!That looks good!
I bought the bundle because I had a free character bundle coupon that was about to expire and already owned everything else in the available selection. That's basically how I got all of the other mermaids in my lkibrary, and I can't remember ever doing a finished render in any of them. The human character herself is fine, to me she looks like an asian woman who's had the "eye-opening" surgery to add epicanthic fold that are so popular in Korea and Japan, plus a nose job as that's a pretty caucasian beak. Totally baffled by the hair choice because MERMAIDS LIVE UNDERWATER and the one included costume is WET, so why does she come with a fluffy dry-only textured hair? As for that outfit... um... no idea what use the main garment will ever be, but at least the shoes have potential, and at least it HAS shoes, but to include this and have the mermaid tail in the other set seems strange. Expression pack is actually decent with some interesting looks. In short, there's some stuff I may use when I work with G9, and there's no way in h e double hocky sticks that I'd ever pay full asking price, but as a semi-freebie that I pay a monthly stipend to have access to access, it's okay.
I'd think the idea was to have a generally useful (if unterested) human bundle for the character and a more niche set of mermaid stuff (most of which should be usable without the base character) as a separate package, rather than mixng-and-matching which would annoy those who wanted the character but not the meraid stuff or vice versa.
Let's see. For Minotaurs we have Movies: Minotaur, 2006; The Minotaur, the Wild Beast of Crete, 1960; Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger, 1977; Wrath of the Titans, 2012; Scooby-Doo! Mask of the Blue Falcon, 2013. For TV: American Horror Story: Coven; Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (Hercules in the Maze of the Minotaur); and Doctor Who (The Time Monster, The God Complex). Anime: Leviathan, and The Mighty Hercules.
For centaurs we have Movies: The Chronicles of Narnia (The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe; Prince Caspian); Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix; Disney - Fantasia, 1940 and Hercules; Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, and possibly others such as Bright, 2017 or even TMNT, 2007. Most of those were also books. TV: Wizards of Waverly Place (Only a single episode); The Mighty Hercules; Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends; Hercules: Legendary Journey; Xena: Warrior Princess; The Magicians; Centaurworld.
I rarely depend upon Wikipedia, but for basic information like this it can be fairly thorough. I'll grant you that the mermaid is more popular in media. Possibly because of the obvious appeal and the general ease with which to simulate such a being compared to either of the other beings. But that scarcely makes them non-existent. Except IRL :).
You know what would have made an interesting addition? A... fishnet. No, not a set of stockings, but a bit 'ol net for catching fish. Add dforce and the world's your oyster, or at least your mermaid, eh? Just think of the possibilities for a net, gladiators could use one, it's versitile. Why, it might be better than Log.
I can confirm that a lot of the interesting add on items such as the harpy feathers, claws, and wings, the succubus head crest, wings etc all work reasonably well with most any g9 figure. The add on items do often look for the base figure and elements of the base figure; but skipping through all that allows the items to load. Of course, when the item is looking for skin textures from the base figure, the final result is sometimes a little weird. But I've been pretty satisfied with mix and match results.
I expect the mermaid add ons would be fine with other figures, but I haven't bought them. I have enough mermaids for now.
