Solved Material bleached in Daz Studio 2026

Hi,

I was using this texture/material option: https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-ethereal-fantasy-outfit-textures

I rendered the same file in Daz Studio 4.24 and Daz Studio 2026 and the 2026's version came out bleached. Any ideas why that is and what I need to change to get the same quality in the Daz 2026 version?

if you select the Base Color texture in Surface Editor and then open Image Editor, if Image Gamma is set to 1 instead of 0 then that might be the problem, setting it to 0 will fix the issue.

I have no idea why DS does this, it seems very random

Are you sure you are using the Iray materials, not the 3Delight materials?

It was 0, but this is awesome! I never knew gamma could be set that way. Thanks, today I learned. ^^

That was it. I trusted the mdl material blindly, because I read somewhere that mdl is iray. Looked very iray in the viewport in 4.24, too. Now I clicked on "browse to file location" to confirm and landed in the 3Delight folder while the rsl material lead to the iray folder. Urgh, do I feel stupid. Thanks for helping out an idiot. Solved.

That sounds like a metadata issue, the RSL/MDL tags are not on the thunmbnails but are added by DS according to the database entries.
