Whip it good

omvendtomvendt Posts: 124

Hi, I am trying to create a scene where my actor is trying to cover part of herself up with whipped cream. There are products for sale that give small amounts of ice cream or such, but does anyone have an idea of how to cover a square foot of skin with what looks believably like whipped cream?

Thanks in advance.

There's a whipped cream shader in https://www.daz3d.com/miranda-s-ice-cream-parlor and as far as I know that's the only one available for DS Iray.  Of course, that's just a shader.  If you just want big globs of cream, Marshian has a product called Foam Party https://www.daz3d.com/foam-party that creates large piles of foam using a combination of props and shaders.  That would be a good start if you were trying to recreate the classic WHIPPED CREAM AND OTHER DELIGHTS album cover.   For lighter coverage and specific things like bits clinging to the arms, neck, upper torso, and legs, Powerage has solutions in the form of two bodysuit and prop sets over at Renderosity  https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/115935/foam-soap-for-g3-females and https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/141922/more-for-the-bathroom-and-g8f  that simulate a wet skin covered with heavy clumps of foam and soap bubbles.  They're for G3F and G8F, but both autofit well to other figures and can be set to have the bubbles and lather layers be seperately visible and vary the placement of the large blocks of heavy foam.  The textures of the foam props can also be replaced with other shaders, like the one from Miranda's, that look more like whipped cream to your eye.

Edit - oh, and I almost forgot that there's anoteher foam-on-body product available on Renderotica called Bubble Bath by the PA DragiHadsitosic, but I won't post the link given the nature of that site.  I'm also fairly certain that there used to be set of whipped cream pasties on that site, but I'll be darned if I can remember what it was called or who made it....

Thanks, KPR, that looks promising as well.

The iray-fluid-decal-kit-2 worked pretty well. The liquid it comes with is shiny but using the bump map you get pretty far in the direction of matte. I think the whipped cream that comes out of cans is more shiny, so I am happy for now. Thanks all for your suggestions.
