Daz won't install. cms and daz keeps saying install failed!
i thought i'd move this to it's own seperate thread so here i go.
i tried copying my folder to a brand new drive in my other storage server as my files are all on network drives as my local drive is far too small to store my library. i'm having a new issue. i can't install/reinstall daz studio or postgre cms. i tried deleting all the files for them in install manager uninstalling Daz and DIM from my local drive and installing it on the network drive installing cms using the exe file onto the network drive. NOTHING WORKED!!!!!! i think im gonna lose my mind!

What's the error you're getting?
It might be security settings on the drive, check that under properties to make sure the account you're trying to use has proper permissions and adjust accordingly.
Are the network drives mapped to a local drive? DS and DIM do not, I think, suport UNC paths (DS definitely doesn't, DIM I am not certain about).
no the network drives are mapped to a drive on a seprate computer from my main computer but they're both on the same network at my house. they're both on a LAN network connected to the same router. is that what your're asking? my library has always been on the networrk drive with no issues daz was originally the local drive on my main computer same with DIM and the issue still persists and my install library has always been on the network drive
They need to be mapped to a local drive on the computer you are using, not on another one (which would still be a UNC path).
Daz itself, the program does not work on a network drive it has to be installed on a local drive. Ask me how I konw. I have a 12tb network drive and ended up having to install a local secondary drive on my pc for Daz to work
are you talking about Daz the program itself? it was and currently is now. the content library is currently on the network drive not Daz itself. sorry i should have been more clear on that. i did for a test try to run the program on a network drive but that's not how it origanllly was when the issue started nor is it how it is currently while the issue persists. daz is currently on the local drive. the only thing on the network drive is my content library. the content library MUST be on a network drive as my local drive is a 500gb drive
How about the packages with the applications etc.?
currently they're on the network drive but originally they were on the local drive where the issue started. im currently copying everything to a different local drive that i freed up space on to see if that helps any. it'll take a few days for everything to copy as its well over 2tbs my nas server is slow and im copying to an SMR hard drive
You shouldn't need to copy to a local drive, just map the network drive to a local identifier
