Create a command in the Settings panel

Hello, I created a hydraulic cylinder in Blender and imported it into Daz using Collada. Everything is working fine. Now, I'd like to be able to control the cylinder rod within the Daz parameters, for example, by creating an "up-down" (or in-out) command. Can anyone tell me if this is possible, and if so, how to do it?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Yes, you can create a new master controller that drives several other properties. What exactly are you wanting to happen?

Hello Richard, thank you for your reply. I would like the rod of the hydraulic jack (one cylinder) to slide up and down in the body of the hydraulic jack (another cylinder) using an "Up-Down" slider placed in the Rod Parameters panel.

Are they ataced to differnt things that are also attached (eg. a ramp that is rasied/lowered by hydraulics)? In that kind of situation the usual fix is actual to have the cylnders point at each other, so that they will stay aligned as the thing that is being moved (the ramp or whatever) is moved.

    Hi,

I would use ERC Freeze to create the movements of multiple parts and transform them into one slider. I've done that for many of my rigged things in various products.

Hi. I just want to create a slider in the settings panel. Is it really that difficult?

    The simple way is to

    1. set everthing the way you want it when the slider is at 100%
    2. right-click in the Parameters pane and enable Edit Mode (if it isn't)
    3. Right-click again in the group you want to contain the controller >Create New Property, name it, set limits, adjust the path (use /mySubGrpup to add a group below the one you right-clicked in), set the type to Modifier/Pose, and Accept
    4. Set the new property to 100%
    5. Right-click on the new property>ERC Freeze, check that the sub-components list is all and only the stuff you want affected, and Accept
    6. test the result.

Could we see the result when you are done?
