Where can I find that vacant expression?

Does anyone know where I can find that vacant expression that is used on so many male characters? You know the one, smiling mindlessly into the void.

I'm sorry to say I see one every time I look in a mirror, just never on a DAZ character.

    Regards,

You need to master the aniamtion tools to the point that you an have a Victoria # in a skimpy dress walk past just before starting the render.

probably any smile dialed in only on the mouth will do it

its why 3D characters look so uncanny and why I choose whole face expressions like happy, flirty etc

then maybe fiddle with individual sliders for parts

I am not skilled enough to dial up a whole emotion so expression packs, especially HD are something I actually buy

As former military, I could say, but then I would be shot by Richard.

While https://www.daz3d.com/bare-minimum-poses-for-genesis-9 are created for females, look at the expressions and there are some that are close or could be adjusted slightly.

My usual method of creating a vacuous expression is to go to the parameters dial, select the head and, instead of going to expressions, use Visemes instead.  Slighty dialing in one of those, especially the open-mouthed vowel sounds, will give you that just barely sapient look with dull glazed eyes.

Do you mean the look on the faces of high schoolers when they come out of a history class?

I often find renders of male characters have that 'air between the ears' expression, but female character renders rarely have it. I don't know why . Probably doesn't help that I used to work with a guy who had the same default look. I suspect ( but I don't know for sure ) that he had that same expression while he was sleeping.

It's what folks round here refer to as 'gormless'

For example subtle model https://www.daz3d.com/z-subtle-model-expressions-for-genesis-9 and subtle feminine https://www.daz3d.com/z-subtle-feminine-mix-and-match-expressions-for-genesis-9.
