DIM eating my C drive

I have a pretty tiny C drive (500 GB), so a while back I moved my library to a different, much larger drive. However, recently I discovered that my C drive was almost full, and DIM installs were starting to fail repeatedly. It turns out that C:\Users\Public\Documents\DAZ 3D\InstallManager\Downloads has ballooned to a whopping 340GB.

The contents look like zip files of packages I have installed in my library. Are they just temp files? Can I delete them, or should I move that to another drive too?

Downloads is not directly used after you have installed your content. In DIM there is a checkbox "Delete after install" (or something similar). If you tick that DIM will delete the downloads (when installed).

Me, I like to have my content on my disks, so I keep the downloads, just have DIM pointing them to another drive.

If you move your content off your C: and your saved .zip you will get back all of your free space. Just make sure that you are pointing DIM and Daz Studio to those locations.

I don't see a checkbox like that. There's "Install After Download" (which I have had checked) but that doesn't seem to have anything to do with getting rid of the packages afterwards.

I may just do that. Are they useful for restoring data in an emergency?

after checking the delete after installing option, you can safely delete all those zips, just the zips. leave the other stuff

The Install after Download checkbox is in the Ready to Download tab, the Delete After Installation is in the Ready to Install tab.

Ah, I didn't even realize the bottom of the window was part of the tab, partly because the rest of it doesn't change between tabs, and also because (since I had "Install After Download" checked), I almost never used the Ready To Install tab. Thanks for the info!
