My new direction for Acrylic Painting

I have one Acrylic Portrait painting class left.
I am not happy with my paintings. I have the most trouble with eyes, nose and mouth.
It feels like my mind has a short circuit that keeps me from producing what my eyes see.
My next direction is animals.
I've put together many good pictures of dogs. I'm using many of the great products available here at DAZ.
My goal is to make acrylic paintings of many of those images.
I've also decided to do an acrylic painting of Tango.
Tango is a retired, senior service dog who visits us for an hour every Friday afternoon.
I'll give the painting to Tango's family. it will be my way of thanking them for the many Tango visits.
This is a photo of Tango.

One trap, iin general (which I frequentlky tople into) is painting what you know is there rather than the surprisng assembly of light and colour that is actually hitting your retina. Knowledge can be a dangerous thing when trying to draw or paint something, at least if you don't want to be a cubist.
Oh and I have ideas for a couple more "Richard Portraits." They'd be sure to elicit some guffaws.
