Please tell me what I'm doing wrong

I have just recently returned to creating images and have forgotten what to do in this case.  I am using a blank background, and want it to render white, as a .jpg file.  Can you please tell me what to do to achieve this?  Thank you for your help.

  • If you save as PNG or Tiff you an use the transparency/alpha channel to add any background you like.

Why wouldn't you just change the background to white?

When I want to do this, I render without any background and use paint.net to add an additional layer underneath, which I then fill with my colour of choice. Flatten the image then save as a .png.

Select your Environment Tab, (should be under Scene Tab) and Change Type from "None" to Backdrop. (It's already set White 255)

You will Probably also want to go into Render Settings and turn "Draw Ground" Off, to control your shadows.
